So, lots of people have been asking for mods on the Xbox. It's been said that we can't really ahve mods, but we could get DLC instead. Can someone explain what they meant exactly? And if the do end up giving us DLC, would some be free? And since 4J studios would work on it, how would they choose? Which "Mods" would we get? Would it be possible to bring the Aether back for the Xbox?
That's the whole point..... The word MODS is kinda replaced with DLC. You would have to pay for DLC as it's extra content Not an update. 4j would have to look at the most popular computer mods, Pay the creator, then rewrite the code to work flawlessly with the currant version.... The Aether for example would need to have the rights purchased from the maker then, recoded and sold to the end user as a DLC/ Map pack whatever...... 4J "looking into it" is about the best we have right now. I would assume the main focus is catching up to the PC version. After that the best way to make money is to provide DLC of popular Mods to keep the community interested...... JMHO.
People should really stop expecting to see PC mods as DLC on the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft.
From the way they've been wording it on Twitter, we will see things inspired by and similar to PC mods, but we will not be getting the exact same thing. They will not just be copy pasting PC mods onto the Xbox 360.
