Alot of people are experiencing this problem, and it is a big reason people won't buy skin packs.
My theory is that it's taking a while to get the OK from big game
companies like Bethesda (Fallout, Elder Scrolls), Treyarch (Call of Duty),
Ubisoft (Assassins creed, Ghost recon), and Rockstar (GTA, Red dead redemption).
But nobody is going to buy the skins if they have no idea who they are.
My guess is that they are going to make a whole lot more dough if they
sell popular skins.
Now i'm still grateful for this upcoming skin pack, and i'm really looking
forward to using them, but I have met alot of people who don't know
super meat boy, castle crashers, perfect dark, spelunky, etc.
And a bit off topic, but 1.8.2 is rumored to come friday,
when the skin pack is released.
Now I know this is most likely fake, just throwing it
out there that it has been rumored.
Not everyone is going to know every single character in every skin pack. In my opinion, I don't really think people care if they know everyone in the skin pack, because people are going to buy it just to use maybe 5 characters out of it. As for 1.8.2, it won't be out by Friday. The last 4J said is that there is still many weeks of work left. I believe this was posted last week.
Honestly, I doubt they're going to give the OK for those kind of big skins. The reason Halo was in there was because it is owned by Microsoft. While they own the rights to distribute a game such as Skyrim on their system, adding trademarked content is a whole nother story. Unless, of course, they were free, but we all know Microsoft couldn't pass up a few MSP...
*EDIT* Despite the above, I do completely agree with you. Master Chief still works fine for me right now, though.
It's not 4J's fault if people don't know who the characters are. They probably assume that since people are playing on an Xbox 360, they would recognize very famous characters from Xbox 360 games. I guess that's not the case.

Yeah I guess you're right. There are just those picky people
out there though
The reason people don't recognise them is because three quarters of the people on Xbox Live only own 1 game. (Call Of Duty)
lol ohhh burn
There is probably some truth to that though. As seen by my Gamercard thingy in my signature, I play a lot of games. I've even played Viva Pinata. So I could even tell the few skins in Skin Pack 2 that were pinatas from Viva Pinata. I guess it does boil down to what you play.

I meant to ask you, how were you able to get your gamertag there?
I have 29706 gamerscore (I know this because i'm online right now,
i'm not some kind of super nerd lol)

So wait, Others want a skin editor..... (Just throwin this out) How do we know who the heck custom skins are supposed to be???? Nevermind the popular games that may get an adaptation but, What if I made KITE or some other obscure skin???? The point is that the user is happy. (even if they never use 3rd person...) Lots of games have a protagonist so, what's wrong with just Steve???? (unless your female) JMHO....

not to sound mean but people would have to be retarded to not know those games especcially perfect dark that was an amazing game back on n64 (well i understand younger kids not knowing perfect dark but people in their teens like 14,15,16+ should definitely know perfect dark)
I like most of the characters in this skin pack, and the ones I don't care for I could see other people enjoying so I dunno what everyone's prob is.
I do get kind of annoyed that people seem to think that a lot of the N64 characters are "nobodies." I love seeing the call-backs. They might not be the most popular XBL arcade games, but back in the day these were beloved characters in games on the cutting edge of the industry.

Without the skin... Beneath the storm... Under these tears...The walls came down

Exactly, who cares what games the skins are from? As long as they look good I don't care what games they are from.
LoL, doesn't help that most of them are kids.
or "I call green!"

N64? As in Nintendo 64?
They have skins from an
NINTENDO game?!
