The story behind my village is a coastal town that sells rums to passing trade ships (Complete with a firebrand priest who preaches on the evils of rum every Lord's day).
the problem is, I can't figure out what a good distillery should look like in minecraft.
I believe a brewery in your town, since it is secret, should bs a small
building that looks abandon and run down and make a secret entrance
somewhere completly unexpected there. Then inside of the brewery
you could use alot of iron blocks or possibly duplicate some to make
it look more industrial. Then have those big tank things and maybe
some more stuff. Be creative, thats what Minecraft is all about!

Any suggestions?

Smoke stacks (with a bit of netherrock on fire in the middle so it actually smokes)
Kegs
A loading dock
A wheat or cacti growing area (vodka or tequila)
A conveyor belt (minecart on track with detector rails triggering pistons)
Scaffolding to monitor vats and belt
A giant bottle outside as the sign
