so i have this amazing world ive been workin on for 2 weeks now but theres a problem. every time I save and exit and then start up the game again everything in my inventory is gone and i spawn back at the spawn point even if i have slept in a bed. it happens to any one in the game. i dont know if its new one or what but itsgetting really annoying. if anyone has any tips to fix it plz let me know.
Its a known bug that they are working on. Make sure to put all of your stuff in a chest before you save and exit from now on. Look through the known bugs thread, there may be some ideas in there on how to deal with it.
Don't use 'save and quit' save the game, the quit afterwards without saving.
Agree. Sometimes this straightens the issue out. The safest plan is to put everything in an chest AND also note the coordinates of where you're at on your map (if you don't really know the terrain that well yet). Then, just save, then quit without saving.
It seems to have worked for me - It happened once and hasn't happened again.
Other people have reported this not working, so it might be a bit of a crap shoot; but at least with all your stuff in a chest and not in your inventory, you can retrieve again
Proviso - That is, if no other players in that world pilfer your chest while you're gone. If that sort of thing is going on in the world you're playing in, then take a second or to to really hide your chest as well. Another caution is if other family members or their friends playing on your Xbox can use your profile, they can do a whole raft of pranks to you when you're gone. Sometimes the "bug" is just a smart alec bro or sis.
on topic: As far as glitches go, this one is pretty lame. maybe you don't have to put your stuff in a chest, i don't think dropped item go away when you exit the game. so just toss all your stuff on the ground and walk over it when you come back haha
I agree with don't use save and quit however, when you save your world be sure after the save is done that the auto-save icon in the top right corner is gone before quitting the game. Not saying this could be a lot of save file issues but it does say not to turn off power or whatever when this icon is showing.
Everytime after you save it goes through that auto-save of leaderboard stats right after the world save is complete. Wait about 5 seconds or so for that icon to disappear before exiting your world. I do it just to be safe and have never had any issue with world saves or iventory disappearing etc.

I would try saving and exiting in the nether. If you saved in the nether, I think this may cause the bug.
Saving in the nether again may fix it. Worked once for me, then messed up again, so idk.
