How does creative mode interact with the 1.8 biome code? I have to presume that creative mode does not have the ability to overwrite the biome precedents, so how do they interact?
For instance, I have an area of extreme mountains (not the extreme mountian biome - I know) that uses the plains green color scheme. I presume if i lay (or plant) trees in this area, they will appear in the proper color scheme for the underlying biome.
Another example, if I lay down a layer of snow on an area that is not tundra or taiga, what will happen? Will it start snowing there, will I alos have to freeze the rivers and ponds by laying ice (I presume I will).
i'm pretty sure creative mode and terrain generation have nothing to do with eachother. As for the tree and snow questions, I'm also quite sure that it would have the same outcome on creative and survival. If you plant a spruce sapling, you're gunna get a spruce tree, no matter where you plant it. Common sense would tell me that placing a snow block on the ground would not make it snow on that one block, but video games don't always use common sense.
You're basically wondering if Creative Mode can be used to alter biomes. The short answer is no. You can't dictate where it rains or snows, or where water freezes. That is all decided by the games code. Sure you can go to a desert or regular forest and put down snow blocks, but that's all you're doing, putting down snow blocks.
