First off, greetings, I'm new on these forums so I doubt any of you know me. Just call me Yrael. Its a character out of a book that I consider one of my favorites. Moving on to the important stuff..
I need help. I'm an active player on the Xbox edition of Minecraft, (and on the computer version, but due to my horrible luck with computers, I've managed to break yet another one of mine), and I've run out of ideas on what to build. Here is a list of what I do have.
-An above ground home, which is one single room empty of items except for a bed, two paintings, and eight torches, as well as a trapdoor.
-Beneath the trapdoor is my basement, which contains;
--A farm. 13 "lanes" with 19 dirt blocks per lane, separated by a ditch full of water and lined with glowstone at the bottom of each ditch. In one corner is a slightly concealed entrance to the lighthouse basement.
--A storage room. It contains nothing but torches and 20 double chests. Believe it or not, most of the chests are at least half full.
--A crafting and furnace room. 40 furnaces, 3 crafting tables, and a "pond" of lava in the center of the room, safely covered by glass blocks. May replace with glowstone.
--A mine, most of which was dug out by me and really is more of an obnoxiously long tunnel system that occasionally runs into a cave or mine that I luckily found.
--A room containing a Nether portal. In the Nether I have a room where I grow (very slowly..) mushrooms.
--And the hallway. All this does is connect the rooms and the upstairs. The floor is lined with glowstone.
-Back to above ground, surrounding my home is a three block thick and four block high wall, with a ledge on the outside of the top block to keep spiders out.
-Surrounding the wall, as extra defense, is a three block deep and three block wide moat. The water is only one block in height, and the bottom of the moat is lined with Soul Sand, the effect of which is made much more irritatingly (I have a bad habit of falling in) great, and movement is extremely slow. Makes it easy to stand on the wall and kill mobs safely, excepting the skeletons.
-Beyond the moat, I have a large tree farm, which hopefully will double as an animal farm once animals stop despawning, which is walled in with the same measurements as the other wall. The only entrance is through a small above ground tunnel which crosses from my home, over the moat, and into the farm.
-Just north of my home, I have built walls and a roof over a mine I found to keep others out. It's only accessible by tunnel which is in my house.
-A crappy lighthouse.
-A boatyard.
-And a Minecart station connecting my house with my friends.
The lighthouse is ten blocks of stone in height. Made taller by being atop a mountain directly diagonally behind my house, which I flattened off into a plateau. The boatyard is built directly into the base of the plateau, right out into the sea. Inside the lighthouse is nothing but a bed and many torches, as well as a hole in the corner with ladders going down. I'll explain that later. Above the lighthouse is my failed attempt of creating a sphere of glass blocks and filling the interior with lava, and leaving the bottom open for the lava to flow down in a fountain to a glass block base above the ceiling to contain the lava.
Now, going down the hole in the corner of my lighthouse's interior, it goes down for a minute and there are two openings near the bottom. The first opening, going from the top to the bottom, is my redstone-powered device which converts redstone wire into obsidian by use of pistons, lava and water. I won't explain its mechanics because I'm sure it's common knowledge by now.
On the second basement floor is a device the purpose and design of which I'm going to keep quiet. In this floor is the doorway I mentioned previously that leads into my farm.
I do have some ideas of what to build next, but I've no idea how to do it. The ideas are:
-A large flag, or one flag with multiple smaller ones as if my home were a castle.
-A large ship, built just slightly offshore and near my harbor, which I also wish to redesign.
-Tearing down and rebuilding my lighthouse.
-Rebuilding the above ground portion of my home.
-An improved defense system, possibly with a drawbridge and dispenser turrets which I have no idea how to use.
So, I would appreciate any ideas of what I can build to keep me busy and not bored, or an explanation and/or suggestions on how to construct what I plan to add.
