There hasnt been any talk of increasing drops, but I for one cant see the point in it. I also have all my contraptions automatic, but I dont set them off all at once, I have a small 7x4 wheat farm and have wheat/seeds coming out of my ears I havent used my wheat farm for over a month because there is just too much wheat than I would ever use. The same goes for mushrooms and sugar cane, I mean how much paper/sugar does one need? I cant see the point in having such big farms
I play on hard so I need alot of food always including wheat and mushroom farms and so to come melon farms. And I have been trying to get a bunch of cactus as well to make alot of green dye for a project I will be making. And drops from mob traps are also very useful for me but since I have a big high rate trap, the items always disppaear.
Well why do you need everything on the ground at once? If you wanted mob drops you could stand in your collection point, same goes for everything else. Like i said with the stacks and stacks of wheat I have combined with bonemeal from drops you can easily make 4+ doubles chests full of bread more than enough. Which also goes for mushrooms, Ive downsized mine to just 8x4 because of the amounts of stacks I have of them for soups.
This is just all my personal preference I am in no way discouraging you to do otherwise. And for the record as I said in my first reply, there hasnt been any talk of it yet
Hmm... This has never been a problem for me seeing as my worlds suck. But I can imagine that would be really annoying to watch things you need disappear before your eyes. I hope they fix that.
I have a large farm as well one soloution i found is use repeaters to set timers so just as the first 2 stacks almost get to you the next wave of the items is set off, only other soloution i see is only getting things one at a time
My farms are big as well cause I play on hard and go through food fast!... and for now I'm only releasing 1 lane of wheat at a time to compensate as 1 lane is 128 wheat + seeds, and with 12 lanes there's no chance for now that I'll be able to harvest the whole farm at once. I hope it gets resolved, but I can do the 1 lane at a time thing for now.
If you didn't know, the Xbox 360 Minecraft version has a drop limit of 200 items and after that limit has been reached, items start to disappear. I have seen thousands of my items disappear in front of my very own eyes.
I have a gigantic wheat farm, sugar cane, farm,Big mob grinder, slime trap, cactus farm, and a mushroom farm. If I ever want to harvest my sugar cane or something, I have to go check if there are other items laying around. And I can't even use my wheat farm which is supposed to pump out 12.5 stacks of wheat per run but gives me a mere 2 stacks. It is just extremely inconvienent for me. I can tolerate lag too as long as my items don't disappear all the time becuase of the drop limit. The lag will go away after I collect alot of items on PC but on the xbox, the items go away instead. I am the kind of guy who loves to build automatic contraptions but my needs just never can be met becuase of this item limit. I actaully never even know about it until like 2 weeks ago.I am sure I am not the only one who wants the limit to be significantly increased so if we could all the tweet about this, maybe the limit may be increased. And please don't hate and say go to the PC version because I really hate the keyboard and mouse controls on the PC minecraft. I also own both versions but prefer to mainly play on xbox.
What exactly is included in the item drops? What are the items that will drop if you go over 200 limit?
Sounds like the problem is the way you designed the farm, instead of building outward and outwards to increase its size, you must design it in a way that keeps the horizontal footprint as small as possible, then stack it vertically. Using water to move loot long distances will always ruin the output of any farm, whether it is for food or mob grinding( unless you put ice blocks under the water stream, although that requires creative mode at the moment, which would spoil your leader board aspirations). The key is to have loot fall to its destination.
