Need some advice from you creative types. So I'm building the Hall of Justice from the old Superfriends cartoon. I'm working on the main meeting room and had always planned on making the giant computer screen out of flashing Redstone lamps...which I just realized are not on Xbox yet.
So what would be an ok looking substitute? I don't want to use glowstone, because I want to put retractable lighting in the room so its totally dark until you turn the lights on. Any other ideas? Just random colored wool?
You could just throw a painting on the wall. Either outline it with black wool or not. If your scale is much bigger than the paintings, use lots of different colored wools to draw whatever you want. I think the painting will work just fine though.
Oohhh, what about a painting, behind glass, and the glass is concealed by pistons until you turn the computer on...
That is a great idea that will look really good, but that seems very difficult to do. To hide all that you'll have to sink the TV into the wall so you can hide all the wiring and pistons.
I suggest placing some glowstone behind the wall that is covered up. The room will still be dark and you shouldn't be able to see the painting. When you turn the power on, a piston uncovers the glowstone, which lights the painting up. This may be much easier and it will still allow your TV and wall to look normal.
Either way will look good to me.
