Yeah I am happy with it, it means I will be able to use the small things I want, ie flight, from creative when I am making my large projects yet can play my actual survival game.
We are intending to have an option to play in Creative or Survival Mode in both the Create World and the Load World screens.
On one hand he's saying that when you create a world you select either Creative OR Survival. No surprises there- that's fine.
Then he says that each time you load your world you have the option of it being either Creative or Survival.
Just me, ok, but that's just downright wrong.
That will totally take away the whole point of half the game- the survival part. You'll be able to get all "set up" in creative with a secure, perfect house, farms, mob grinders, minecarts, redstone contraptions, etc., etc., and then turn on survival. So much for the challenge of surviving.
I have no problem with Creative, or Survival, worlds. But switching between them? No.

People are being given the right to play their game how they want to play it. You are in no way being forced to "ruin" your own survival experience. For many of us, this is what we've wanted all along. It's beneficial to many players.
I'm kind of torn both ways about it. On the one hand I can see how it can remove any challenge from the game. On the other hand being able to give yourself things that aren't available in your world due to size constraints will be a boon.

Don't care. Die-hard survivalists can still opt to stay in survival mode 100% of the time. Nothing is forcing them switch back and forth. Those who want to create only can also opt to stay in creative mode 100% of the time, they don't have to try to survive if they don't want to either. Having the option to switch back and forth just opens up an option for those people who might find particular worlds more interesting longer if they can switch back and forth. Different strokes for different folks. If you think switching will make the game less interesting for you, then it's simple, use some self-control and just don't switch.

Why? You switch between them on the PC, so why wouldn't you be able to do it on the XBOX?

Thank you. I couldn't have said it better. I wish people would play their game the way they want, and let others do the same.
I always find that hyperbole amusing. How do other people prevent you from playing the way you want to? Are they standing over you with a baseball bat?

That reminds me of the old BC comic strip line:
"If the object of golf is to get the lowest score, then why play at all?"
What some are wanting is to play a game like chess or Civ V (or wish they could) where they go ahead and make all their moves with impunity except for the last one, and then turn on the "normal" game and "win"... every time.
They say it's their "right".... but it's not right.
They say they're "playing the game"... but they're not.
Not trying to convince anybody, just sharing my thinking.

Not everyone would use it for a "cheating" purpose though. It could greatly benefit people who wish to create Hunger Games maps and those who run an ever-updating roleplay server. For these admins, the solution is nearly perfect.
It always confuses me when people complain about having more options to play with. Its simple you dont like it dont use it. If they never added this option I would have stopped playing Minecraft Xbox. Creative mode is near pointless without an option like this. I hate building massive structures constantly being attacked by mobs, yeah and survival is so much fun in your little dirt shacks.

The meaning of life, secrets of the universe, spiritual enlightenment, just ask...
I have no problem with people being allowed to switch back and forth between Survival and Creative. However, if those people come onto this forum, and act like they mined a thousand diamonds legit, or built some massive building legit, I'm immediately going to call ********.
I feel sorry for those that will use Creative to cheapen their survival experience. Yes, you can play however you want, but what's the purpose of Survival if you can just go into Creative, give yourself everything you need in unlimited quantities, then switch back to Survival? I don't see the point.

You can do that on the PC, but currently you have to save, quit, change modes, and then reload on the xbox.
However, if by "mode" you mean switching from Creative to Survival- hell no.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing this.
