alright, so i have been on a hell of a hunt to find some slime, i have spent (i think) 8 hours in game and an ungodly amount of time on the wiki page for slime balls to come where i am now, you guys are my last hope. so i used the slime finder and dug out the max area where the slime spawn. i waited like 30 seconds (i was a pretty pumped to check it out) and, boom, there was a big ol' slime, but even though i hit him with my fists, he died and no smaller slimes came out. so then, i wait and came back only to find nothing, i did this probably 20 or so more times before losing hope and spent some time on the another project. then, i came back and boom, a mid-sized slime was there only to broke up in to 4 small slimes yet no slimeballs dropped. rad. and all of today, i have been doing work around the house and then i sit down, turn on the box and check my lair to see if any slimes have arrived on my nice little flat. but none have, i have been doing this from 9 this morning to (now) 9 at night. am i too far away when i start to head down and slimes dont have enough time to spawn? what am i doing wrong? is there a trick to having them spawn in there spawn-able area? thanks for the help, this would mean a lot if i could get this slime endeavor out of the way and get back to work.
I belive that your slime box thing room is not big enough thats why it only spawned a mid size slime make it Longer and 1 block higher Take a screen of the room if posible pls Thank you add AgentX44Jobo for more help
One of the problems you might be having is you have a lot of caves around the slime chunk that haven't been lit up. Even if you have a slime farm, other mobs have a greater chance to spawn. Not only do slimes have a lower chance of spawning, but a big cave would have more blocks for mobs to spawn on, compared to the 16 or so blocks for slimes.

when i made my room, it was actually 2 slime spawn-able areas in one and i dug one out completely and the other out half way, i have it 3 high. also the first slime that spawned was the largest one.

i think you found the problem here, because i will find monsters in the room even though i have over 9000 torches. any "quick tips" to help find the neighboring caves?
Listening out for mob sounds when you're near walls, you could use the xray glitch and look through the walls other than that there really isnt any other good ways, also if you want to further your knowledge on slimes/spawning and slime farms you can check out my thread just click my sig pic
