I was playing minecraft on the xbox and the farther back you go from the sign the darker it gets until it turns into a complete black line

This bug has been known of for awhile. ---> Check out this thread.

It's on the official bug list as well. Use the search, it's a lot faster, I found several results within 10 seconds of reading your post.

Never noticed that, but I usually burn down the MINECR FT sign.

I have also recently burned down/blown up the village and destroyed the lava moat.

The font type was fine, you just needed a larger size! On my pad i had to enlarge thescreen by twice its norm!

I think it was an issue with your pad, it seemed to be the regular size on my PC.

Here's a test.

If that looks small, then it's something weird with your machine.

I think it is just the way they render signs at a distance. Haven't noticed it with signs, but I have seen something similar to what you describe with redstone. If you are far away, it is just a stretched out red streak. The closer you get, the thinner it gets, until it looks normal.
