everytime I start the server it spawns thinking i'm starting a new server, and when I log out if I don't put everything in the chest it deletes it, because it thinks I'm starting a new server everytime I spawn. Let me clarify, my house is still there, but my inventory isn't.
Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!
This is one of my favorite servers and i cant just give it up.
It is a known bug. 4J is working on fixing it. They think one of the reasons it might be happening is if you have too many people visit your world. Unfortunately the only thing you can do right now is make sure you put all your stuff in chests when you save and exit.
Your save is corrupted. You can open the file in an editor like Horizon and extract the world save into a new file. This may solve the problem but it is highly against the rules of Microsoft as it is considered tampering. Do it at your own risk.
First It has nothing to do with item counts and duping. I have a couple maps with huge(like half mill) amounts of duped supplies without this issue. The one server this issue is present in has little to no dupe items but has seen 50+ different players. And a friend with this same issue has had 30+ players. I have tried everything including starting new save and importing savegame.dat, while this does reduce the file size but still carries the bug over. 4J please fix....

Agree, it is a known bug and 4J is working on it. However, I have seen it happen several times in worlds that have not had many people visit them at all. That is, closed family games, set to invite only, where the maximum number of guests in the game overall has been probably as low as 6 people.
In local splitscreen games, it appears to happen to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th players who exit the game before the 1st player... but I have also seen it happen sporadically to the 1st player as well.
I have even had it happen once to me in a single player offline game where I was the only one who had ever entered that world. I lost everything in the inventory. However, I did not spawn back at my original spawn point as others usually report, but in an earlier house and bed that I had destroyed and moved to a new house several saves before the bug occurred. That is, I had successfully saved, exited and re-entered the game in the 2nd house bed several times before the save and exit that re-entered me in my first bed without an inventory. As far as I know, though, I'm the only one who has had it happen quite that way.
