Duping... its hated among the minecraft community. I need to ask why though. Okay so here I go...

People complain its the lazy way and they say a build isn`t as good if its not manually mined. Well the truth is we had to mine to fine the materials to dupe. The reason I dupe is for iron blocks. It has a nice modern look and I like it for that. My server has 10+ buildings some HUGE made of iron blocks I doubt there is that much iron on a map to begin with. So whats wrong with getting a block you like for building. If you want a block and its limited you should make your own. So you can build anything you want how you want. What because it wasn`t mined it wasn`t a good build? Not true duping doesn`t build your project for you. You still have to design furnish and landscape your house! So really it doesn`t take anything away from your build because you still had to do work! It wasn`t built for you! Its still effort you put in and dupers be proud of your work!

Another complaint is that it takes fun away from the game.. So I have a question would you rather chop at stone for hours or build, use creativity, discover new ways to construct without being limited by items. I see non dupers as people who roadblock their creativity from its full capacity due to being restricted by supplies. I cant have that roadblock and prefer to express my building skills! Ever realized that duped worlds always have cooler buildings because they aren`t limited?

If you post a picture on this forum of your house the first thing you get is "Oh is it duped" and if it is no matter how amazing is of a build if its duped it sucks! People dont ask is it modded or was it made on creative mode when it comes to the PC. So from the picture dupe haters are painting is that Modding and Creative mode to express your creativity is ok but for some odd reason duping isn`t. Whats the problem that duping wasn`t meant to be part of minecraft well neither was modding and we don`t have creative (or modding) so this is what we got!

And the final complaint is "it corrupts your save" no it doesnt I`ve dupped since day 1 on 3 different maps and no corruption. But if someones save is corrupted and that person duped, fingers are pointed at duping right away not even knowing the true reason. So really its in your head.

I will get flamed for this and I don`t care but can anyone understand me on this. And dupers don`t be afraid to tell every hater that its my world and I`m proud of it and you don`t care what they say

Also, just to reply to one part of your post, there is no evidence that duping does or does not cause world corruption. However, one would tend to lean towards the idea that it might because it's a glitch.

A glitch - "A sudden, usually temporary malfunction or irregularity of equipment" Glitches in coding can lead to unexpected side effects. For example, wolves in Minecraft were never supposed to hunt and kill sheep. However, a glitch in their AI coding made them do it and Notch decided to leave it there. Who is to say that duping doesn't lead to further glitches occurring? Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it isn't possible. I haven't experienced many of the glitches or bugs I see people bring up on the forums, but that doesn't mean they don't happen.

I see where your coming from and just forgot to add that many have said this has happened and all my friends dupe and it hasnt happened to them. And I don`t care it was bothering me so I put my feelings out there I dont care if it gets closed expression is what I was aiming for.

duping is mostly in my opion wrong i don't do it. Why because i love mineing sure after 3 hours of straight mineing it gets boreing
but after your giant house is done you look back and know you diden't cheat. Hard work feals good dosen't it,

It's all personal opinion which shouldn't effect you at all. People love it and people hate it. that's just the way it is.Spending time to justify why you like duping is simple a mute point it won't change most peoples view on it. Enjoy the game how ever you choose to whether people agree with or not.

The duplication glitch arguments go like this:

• Thread about the bug/duped build
• One guy hates it for stupid reasons
• Other people gang up on him with the "it doesn't affect you; they can play the way they want to" speech
• Few people say that it does affect the Leaderboards massively
• The same gang says how Minecraft should never be played competitively
• Argument resets with the aforementioned speech being turned around
• One side eventually leaves in cowardice disguised as the usual, "You are too stupid! I can't even bare talking to you anymore!"

There is nothing anyone can agree on here; all subjects are debatable. There are no haters or supporters because there is no right or wrong (from a realistic perspective). Let us make a community where the duplication glitch is only mentioned in the details of creations and no further.

Here we go again. Can't we just agree to disagree on this. Some will justify it, others won't, it isn't going to change. On a side note, not to nitpick Bludgeoneddeath the term is moot point:)

A glitch or abnormality in a game is perfectly normal, for there is no perfect game or code. When people equate the duplication glitch to abortion, it makes me very very sad. It's a video game... where we should escape all of the world's rules and live freely and happily ever after.

UGH, this again. I clicked this hoping for something funny...like maybe someone went a new direction with it. "I hate duping because of toast, seriously screw toast."

But no, not today.

just to throw it in, Duping is the alternative to creative when it comes to building, it allows for building with resources that there is a minimal amount of to use. i also respect that it is a glitch so 4j will continue to patch it, but honestly people need to just quit complaining if someone dupes. If you want to make a legit world, then fine. you play how you want, ill play how i want.

Together, they really say it all. For the good of the stability of the game, I hope 4J will continue to patch any and all glitches they find. If a "good" glitch can be stabilized, then they might intentionally add them as game features as they have done so in the past (e.g. with the wolves). Those sorts of decisions are theirs to make. Anyone who exploits a glitch is not committing a moral sin; but they are assuming the risk of corrupting the worlds they do it in (however small that risk might actually be). Therefore, if they do it in someone's world without permission of the owner of that world, then they're not being very good playing partners. In the case of the dupe glitches, they are ultimately going to be replaced by creative mode, which is coming in the next update. All that's required is a little patience.

I don't remember anyone ever saying the dupe glitch is the same as getting an abortion. That may be a little dramatic, no?

Just saying but you guys act like assholes too especially when someone has a different view then you or offers there opinion on the matter. If someone says they don't like duping then they get jumped on so it works both ways.

I agree w/you but there are also a few dupers who do the same. I'm not a duper and if that's how you want to play then that's fine but I'm talking about the dupers that start trouble on these forums as well. I'm not getting into specifics but there are some here who are just as bad as the people you're talking about. I think that if you wanna dupe then great do it but why post a thread(numerous today it would seem) that you know is only going to cause trouble? Or upset people? Why these topics haven't been banned yet is beyond me but there's no point in the duping threads but only to cause an uproar. People are going to start flaming each other from both sides of the debate and there are assholes on both sides is what I'm saying

I've said it before; even when creative mode arrives, people will STILL be more impressed by structures made from mined materials. It shows you went through the fun/tedium of acquiring the materials, which adds an extra ooooo ahhhh factor. Dupe or don't, I don't care.

The only reason I hate the glitch is because in every world I go on everyone has chest after chest filled to the brim with diamonds because they duped then and then you always hear them brag about it.
