I have tried so many different things and none of them have resulted in me finding slime.
I've dug HUGE rooms, that are at bedrock and 4 blocks high and nothing. I've gone to different coordinates using slime finders online and nothing. This is really starting to annoy me as I've been trying to make sticky pistons for three days now. The rooms are well lit and I've been playing on normal difficulty mode.
I once stumbled upon two slimes but killed them with my sword unaware that they would not split. I have gone back to where I found those two and dug the rooms out and none show up! It's so annoying.
Does putting lava in the room help or does it repel them?
Any suggestions because I REALLY want to find slime! Thanks for any help.
Slimes will not spawn on a block if you are within 24 meters of said block. They will despawn if you travel 128 meters away from them.
Go down to your farm and, from about the middle of one of your walls, dig a tunnel just big enough for you to fit in (1 wide, 2 tall) that goes 25 blocks away from your farm. Put a door at the start of the tunnel so the slimes can't get to you. Shut the door, walk all the way to the end of the tunnel, turn your TV off, and walk away for about 40 minutes. When you come back, you should see plenty of slimes, assuming you only dug out the spawning chunks, and not just a bunch of random space.

Trying this now... I haven't been able to get anything to spawn in my Slime Farm which took me days to dig out... It's over 2 or 3 correct chunks and I've not had any luck at all...
Note about this: Make sure you select the Online Game and Invite Only options, because your controller will disconnect after a while if you have a wireless one, and it will pause the game. However, this won't matter if you select Online Game, and nobody will join if you select Invite Only.
Make sure the room is well lit with torches but only on the walls and on blocks on the ceiling,(not on the ground).
if you have found a chunk that contains slimes. dig 4 rooms 3 blocks high with one block floor between, with a ladder connecting each floor in a corner, continue the ladder upwards to about level 30 and make a platform to stand on. once there save and exit switch to hard, reload the game and wait for 15 - 20 minutes, look downwards long the ladder and when the slomes spawn you should see green splashes at the bottom, save and reload in peacful, go down and kill them with a block or fist(not a weapon).hope that helps.
Why would you switch to hard, mobs dont increase there spawn patterns with difficulty changes. Torches on the side walls will also be a spot where they cant spawn put them in the wall.
