So I have been doing some testing with the doors, and having mobs spawn inside your house when you try to sleep. As meny of you know one main reason for this, double doors. So this is what I found.
1.You can have double doors for your bedroom, but they have to be reverse(they open opposite ways)
2.Having double doors in any room of the house is fine, as long as you only have a single door(or reverse double) leading to your bed room.
After dealing with this countless times, and trying to light up the place, or (fill in/light up) the cave under my house, or move the bed 1 or 2 blocks away from the wall. Seeing that none of it worked. So lastly it was the doors. I hope this helps someone so they don't go through the same fustration I went through.
Side note: To get reverse double doors you need to place one from outside and the other from the inside of the room. Also all testing was done after mobs spawned up.(sleeping just befor they spawn lets you sleep even with a bugged room)
The doors should still meet but one will be sticking out a little more than the other. Side noted that you place one from the inside and the other from the outside of the room.
Thank you for posting this! I'm sure it will save many people the trouble and some frustration. I've had this problem as well, and did everything to prevent it because I wasn't quite sure what exactly was the cause. Hopefully this idea will spread!
I have a pair of standard double doors on one of my houses, and no other interior doors... but I have a very well-lit courtyard with a single door leading out of the compound. Mobs show up by my bed every time I forget to close that single outer door, but NEVER when it's closed. The state of the main double doors doesn't seem to matter.
It's almost like when you go to sleep, the program tries to find a route to any place where mobs could spawn, and if it finds one, you get a night-time visitor. Double doors apparently don't block the route in this subroutine.

Does your courtyard connect to your house? If so the one door of the courtyard may be keeping mobs out of your courtyard and your house in turn.
I'll have to try the reverse door idea. I had a house with a double door and experienced mobs wakimg me up, but just made a separate bedroom. But this is still worth finding out. Not a fan of the mob pathfinder pretending the double doors aren't there while sleeping.
Wow! My friends and I have always been complaining about mobs spawning in our bedrooms while we sleep. The best we did to not get waken up by them is enclosing the beds in what I like to call "cobblestone closets." (4x4x4 room)

Thanks dude! I'll spread the word!
