I just wanted to know, has anyone gotten bored of minecraft? If not, then what do you guys do when you feel like minecraft just got boring? Lately i just feel less and less convinced to pick up the comtroller and play.
I bought the game the day it was released.
I played 16 hours a day for the first week. Only took time out to sleep. LOL
Next week it was like 12 hours a day.
Then 8. Then 4.
These past few weeks, I've been more interested in the boring Olympics than in playing Minecraft.
So yeah. I'm bored with the game. Haven't played in two days, and just like you, when I do go to play it, I sort of hesitate and ask myself "do I really wanna do this"? Lately, the answer is "no" and I shut it off without playing anything.
Not sure what's wrong. Certainly burnout is the primary factor here. I played WAY too much the first few weeks.
But I made a post earlier and I pointed out how it seems the game is missing that all important "sense of adventure". When I start up a new world, the very first thing I do is walk the entire map. So in the first half hour, I've basically removed ALL "sense of adventure". Then the game becomes a grind. Either you have to grind mining to gain enough materials to build, or else you have to spend your time duping.
Here's my answer... they made a TERRIBLE mistake by not starting at v1.8 with creative mode.
You see, without an infinite map like the PC has, there's no sense of adventure in Xbox. There's no mystery. There's no "gee, I wonder what's just on the other side of that mountain over there...?" You already know what's there - a bunch of ocean and an invisible wall.
So... what is xbox all about then? It's about BUILDING STUFF. It's certainly NOT about exploring and adventuring.
But... how can we BUILD STUFF without creative mode?
Thus... all the dupers out there.
Also... the bugs in xbox are few but severe. Two friends of mine lost their worlds to the "reset" bug. They've both given up and moved over to PC.
I'm going back to PC too, I decided. I want and need infinite world size. Xbox is like Minecraft Lite, and it just doesn't satisfy in the long run. Maybe PC won't satisfy me either... but based on the stories my friends have told me - humongous worlds with ridiculous huge cities and 120 players on the server at once... it just seems more exciting than Xbox, by far.
the only reason I haven't made the jump yet is because I ran the demo and wasn't happy with it... so now I need to upgrade my PC. It needed it.
I am getting bored of Minecraft. I don't have any ideas to build, my house were all mansions and underwater bases and now they're just simple NPC houses because I don't have any ideas. But when I DO get ideas, I have to go get and mine every material and its just exhausting, time-consuming(it makes it worse for me because every time you must do this in a new world), and I never finish the project.
I played all the time because it was the first time playing Minecraft but now its just *sigh*. My PC can't run Minecraft because its a very old PC and my parents have better stuff to do than to buy a new one and the Xbox 360 version is the best I got.
There isn't really much to do even though the game is made for creativity. I'll just stick to my other games and I'll jump back to Minecraft when 1.8.2 comes out. But for a game under the category "Action & Adventure," it really isn't that.
I get lonely sometimes. I just need a friend. I may tend to your garden, build you a swimming pool, pet your dogs, bake a cake, cut down some trees... but I really like following Steve and just watching him.

I'm watching you... do not talk about me.... you will get in trouble
Sounds like we are all in the same boat. Come on update! I will also recommend (for you PC users out there) a fun little game called Terraria. Google it.
All I play on is hard. I also try to re-enact Hardcore Mode from PC a few times a week where if you die(on hard) You have to delete your world. One Life One World. You get killed that's it. It keeps the challenge to stay alive interesting and exciting especially if you find a really good seed but even when I don't do Hardcore Mode it's awesome just to play/create on Hard. Normal is a little too easy for my taste and I hate Easy and Peaceful mode.
I Have to completely agree with you Normal seemed just to easy for me and i dislike easy, and peaceful. I recently found 39 diamonds So theres my armour and tool set XD
I guess I'm in the unique position where I haven't played the PC version to compare it to. Therefore I just don't get bored & genuinely don't see what the bitching is about. The world size seems fine to me, Plenty to explore and build on. I confess, Im new to the game but still, It's definitely my favourite game atm, and I have become a no life addict >< Lol.
Lol yea im in the same boat as you

I know I am really looking forward to the update with all of the enchanting and the new creatures. Sadly all I seem to do anymore is blow up mountains and then when I have flat land I have no idea what to build and thats a little boring. Once we get caught up to the computer and if they somehow are able to increase the map size by say at least 5xs or more then not thinking boredom will occur again for a long time if ever.

Yes the game can get boring here and there and yes its easy to quickly say I'm making the move to pc, but something everyone fails to take into account is that your trying to compare a dollar to a 1000 bucks.
The xbox version is yes a lite version at the moment as 4j is working hard to convert the coding from java to C++ and that takes time so yes we are limited on what we can do right now. Second the map size is small but I can see them easily making it bigger if not infinate with the 1.2. update we just have to be patient. The Pc version is going to be bigger and better for atleast 6 months to a year till 4j can officially get us all the way caught up and then start working on what they want to add into the game.
Can someone tell me what adventure mode is, and if it may come out on update in the next month or two? I'm not bored yet, but I've only had it a week or so.

Adventure mode is a new mode, like Survival and Creative. I don't know if it has even been officially released on the PC version yet(though I could be wrong). Then there is the adventure update, which is the next update we will be getting.
Wait, you asking about Adventure MODE or the Adventure UPDATE?
Adventure MODE is a mode where you can't place or destroy any blocks (outside from explosions). It's someone may create a map and you have to play it according to what you're supposed to go through, not just dig wherever you want.
We most likely will not get Adventure MODE because those normally involve Adventure maps... Which players create and share. No map sharing available on the Xbox Edition, as of yet and maybe ever.

If anyone wants to play Bauldur's Gate (1, 2, or enhanced) or Icewind Dale PLEASE PM me. I'd like to play.

No, you're not alone. I don't have a PC rig that can run Minecraft well (if at all) so I've never played the PC version. As a result perhaps, I find the Xbox version engrossing and very worthwhile. I have no complaints about world size or missing features from the PC.
If you look at reviews of the XBLA version, you'll see they fall into 2 camps: those which evaluate the game on its own merits (generally positive) and those that compare it to the PC version (generally negative). The mindset here makes all the difference.
And no, I'm not bored with the game, though I'm not playing it exclusively anymore. I'm getting into a few of my other neglected games when I feel like taking a break.
Sure, dozens of times. Then i just start a new building project and problem solved But seriously, i know what you mean and i fear that i will hit a plateau soon as i play so much. Ive started duping buildong mats that take too much times to get, but am really looking forward to creative mode. And i dont care how anyone views duping. I know it is worse than the original sin, but i doont need your approvement. It keeps the game fresh for me, ironicaly, as i can continue to start new projects.
I'm not necessarily bored of the game itself, it's definitely a thought of comparison to pc, and the xbox lag issues, and the fact that i only like playing it with a friend.or two. When i think of something fun to build, i load up my map, i go to "the workshop", and find i don't have the resources for building said thing. The thought of having to mine the resources takes away my initiative. Also, i don't play single player games anymore, so someone has to be online for me to want to play and mine resources and whatever. And the lag, omg the lag. Anyone who joins me is constantly have to leave and reload because of it.
Lemme just say that it's a horrible idea to post that in a Minecraft Forum.
The minecraft forum is the BEST place to talk about it. It's nothing bad to say your getting bored of the game, especially since 90% of the people in this thread had already stated how much they loved it in the beginning.
It's a simple fact that the updates will revive the game. Creative mode + villages, the end, etc. So much stuff can't be experienced on the xbox yet... yet being the keyword here.
I forgot to mention, IMO, the map size is fine for me. Once villages and whatnot are added they may need to increase the size though.
for me, minecraft is one of those games that you can't get bored on. there is ALWAYS something to do. weather its surviving, building arenas, playing custom maps, or modding, there is basically not much to get bored on. i mean, sure, every once in a while i take a break, but i always come back.
