So if we can't explore to our hearts content in xbox minecraft, due to the small map size...
...then all that leaves us to do is build stuff.
Which is exactly why I've spent most of my time on xbox duplicating items via glitch... because someone at Mojang or 4J thought it would be a good idea to start at v1.6 instead of v1.8, where we would have had a TRUE creative mode right off the bat.
Kinda sad when the most fun I had in the game was by exploiting a glitch.
They didn't start it at 1.8 because when the game was in development, the PC version was still in 1.6. 4J wanted to just get the game in that version and fix the bugs. They weren't interested in trying to juggle new updates into the equation.
I've never been much of a builder in mc and I still haven't noticed a problem with the world size though.
I thought there was going to be unlimited maps when I bought minecraft 360. I was lead to believe this due to the fact that Minecraft PC has unlimited maps.
It's not about being 'greedy.' The Nether is barely 250 blocks from edge to edge. That is hardly large enough for a Nether Fortress. If it's not even big enough for the structures generating, than it obviously needs to become larger. With the new addition of Ravines, abandoned mineshafts, and strongholds, We're going to need a bit more room, or it's likely that everything will be incredibly close together, if not touching.
Ya we need the worlds to increase insize with an update the only problem 4J would most likley run into would be memory sapce however this can be resolved for peope with LIVE accounts because they have accses to cloud storage, I personally have a very nice and developed world which i have a full map of so now there is no way for me to start a super farm once melons come-out

wouldnt make any difference, its an imposed saved size limit by Microsoft doesnt matter which of the locations its in
"We have set Xbox Live Arcade game file limits as a general guideline. An important part Xbox Live Arcade is easy access, and keeping file size down is a vital part of that," Microsoft told Ars. "Equally important is offering titles with superior gameplay. We weigh both considerations on a case-by-case basis, and will make exceptions when it makes sense to ensure the best customer experience."
Case-by-case basis... MCX360 is the top selling arcade game... I'm sure they could make another exception
Interesting factoid: The Watchmen arcade game doubled the size limit

Top selling arcade game, I am sure they would want it to work on every console, including arcade consoles. I'm not saying they won't not enforce it, but I am sure they would like to keep their most popular arcade game(at least right now) available to as many people as possible.
Fair enough, but I'm tired of people spouting off this save file limit as gospel, when obviously M$ has made it clear that they aren't even taking it very seriously any more.

The meaning of life, secrets of the universe, spiritual enlightenment, just ask...

Not our problem. They should have thought about all of this before charging us the same amount as Minecraft PC, and not telling us there will be limitations.
Lots of people have bought Minecraft 360 in anticipation that it will be just like the PC version, but on a gaming system.
Now we are finding out we just paid the same amount as the PC version, but we don't get to create skins, and we have small worlds.
On top of the other limits the Xbox version has.
I wish it would inform us about these limitations before purchasing Via the Game Details in the marketplace.
Again, it's all about that $$$

To be fair, there is no official custom skin editor in the PC version. Even with the limited size, I still think it is worth the money.

I's true the people make the skins Mojang just allows you to use them. Yes the Xbox box version is worth the money it's a great game.Off topic: Thanks everybody for getting the thread hot, I appreciate it.

frankly im still disappointed in the xbox version. for starters im still waiting on height to increase to finish m pixel art. and just the whole small map ticks me off. like stated by people before me minecraft is al about exploringthis vast world, fighting hoards of mobs, mining through out the very bedrock level and also buildingand creating in the entire world. like sure people can make cities in the xbox worlds but the point is to have a city in one place and then have to cross a vast desert/ tundra to get to the next. with loads of pixel art everywhere or ruins. and vast cave networks throughout the world. the xbox edition has ruined the very rreason of minecraft. right now i get so bored on the xbox editoon unless an idea come to mind. but shouldnt have to worrry about room useage. wen the xbox editon first came out i sore somewhere it was stated that it was suppposed to be exactly like the pc version and so farr im disapointed. dont quote me on that. but it needs to be bigger for the full minecraft experience it was intended to bring to fans.
Oi! Out of water guy! Not tryin' to sound off like an a-hole or anything, but ya shouldn't reply to an inactive thread (ergo the last post made was on August 15, and today is December 4th.) Try to make a new thread for discussion alright?

Sir, it has been stated time and time again on the forum that the 360 has RAM limitations..... increased world sizes are unlikely in any direction. Probably not even up.

But I guess if It'll mess up the game then they should make it bigger. Or maybe have an option for world size.
Yes
they changed the limit on the size of the GAME itself.
the save files however still have a size limit.
