Well since 4J hasn't been answering my tweets lately ( or anybody's ) the person I've been tweeting is 4JStu. He recently has said when he responded to a tweet that the world size isn't getting bigger with the 1.8.2 update. That's kinda a disappointment to me. What do you think?
Not really all that suprising given that the 1.8.2 update is goign to be large anyway. I'm sure they are looking into it still.
True and yes I know it is a large update but still it would have been nice to have a larger world. But with all the new stuff the world is going to be a little cramped.
The worlds are big enough in my opinion, why do we need them bigger?
True there big but let's say you find every cave ( which might not happen ) and you mine every resource soon enough it will be all gone. And let's say you have a world with 0 cacti, sugarcane, clay, etc. You won't find any on your world cause the world is too small so your stuck without that resource.

With everything that we will be getting in the later updates, worlds will be really cramped, or be missing a lot of stuff. At least if they are bigger, it spreads things out and also increases the odds you will have more stuff in your world.
They've said they'll be looking into expanding world size in the long term. That means, not any time soon. They're going to focus getting the game to at least 1.2.3 before they start doing anything else.

Pretty much my thought. If the maps aren't made larger, you won't be able to dig a block out without running into something at every turn. An obvious solution would be to break the world into parts. Just like the Nether, the world could load as you enter certain 'zones'. Again, gonna be cramped.
I thought they were going to raise the roof on this next update?? That would make the world grow up at least... Any word if they're still going to raise the sky to 256 or something like that?
For 1.8.2, I agree, but when we catch up to the PC version, with around 10 biomes, with variations within the biomes themselves, villages, desert villages, jungle temples, desert temples, ravines, abandoned mineshafts, strongholds, villagers, and I am sure there is more I am forgetting, in my opinion, that is a lot to have in a 864X864 area. Either that, or it will be a lot we will be missing out on with each world.

I have seen people say this, but I don't know if 4J actually said this. From what I saw, the height increase came in 1.2.1 for the PC which means we should get it in the 1.2.3 update. I could be wrong though.
I was very disappointed to learn that there would be no expansion for 1.8.2. I think we're going to find that things won't work as well as they should due to the limited map size. People are already having issues with finding things such as pumpkins and clay in their worlds, and now we're being given new biomes and structures. That's a lot more to pack in, with a lot more that will be absent from each world (unless you get really lucky).

Exactly you just said everything I was trying to say but 20 times better. +1 (:

My only real concern is Strongholds, especially if we're going to get End Portals in this update. If so, 4J needs to tweak the terrain generation slightly to ensure each map has one stronghold, and that it generates after every other terrain feature, so that an errant mineshaft, dungeon, or ravine can't slice through the portal. It'd be a shame to not be able to finish the adventure update's adventure.

We won't see End Portals until our 1.2.3 update, so perhaps by then we will see a bit of expansion. I don't think multiplying the map size by two would be asking for a lot, especially given what we know the Xbox 360 is capable of. I could be wrong, though. I'm no programmer nor a developer, but it just seems strange to me that this is an issue.

There was a bug in 1.8.2 that removed pumpkin seeds from abandoned mineshafts that wasn't fixed until 1.9. This means that if you don't have the pumpkins on your world to break down into seeds, you won't be able to get any.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
