What we could use for skin editing dosent have to be a pixel by pixel customization type of editor, but just a skin editing that only changes pre- made clothes, eye color, hair, etc. They could sell us that, and then add clothes packs for like 160 msp. Like say steve with a masterchief helmet and police officer clothes. Or fidget, that cat thing, with a tuxedo. They could add endless combinations, and all they have to do is add the clothes that are from companies they got the 'OK' from. And they wouldn't get sued, unless they wanted to, and then they could just add a freaking Nathan Drake outfit or something.
Instead of adding each pre- made skin to the game, I think this would be the obvious decision. And since everybody wants a skin editor, this would be the most legal thing they could add the keeps the players satisfied.

Now I realize my idea has some flaws, but this is still just my idea. If 4J really did something like this they would most likely fix all of my flaws, I mean i'm just a guy who likes Minecraft on his computer, i'm sure 4J, a group of like 50 or so people, could make a better idea than me.

Your idea sounds good. I want some kind of skin editor in the near future. I would just hope they would give you a lot of of different clothing and stuff because i hate the idea of of a lot of people having the same skin as me.
There is no legal issue with making your own skins, the only illegal part would be to sell said skins to others, we are free to use anything we create for personal use that would otherwise infringe on copyright laws.
If we were stealing MC skins that say Disney created then that is not allowed, but if I was to create then for personal use or free of charge then that is allowed.
