I am just starting to grasp all the concepts of redstone and Im looking for some kind of project that will take some time but is still good for an average.
please leave some ideas!
Vending Machine was the first thing the came up in my mind. You'll need Redstone dust , 2 or 3 repeaters, water and dispensers (quantity depends on how big will your dispenser be) If you need help message me in xbox GT:Moved2USAyou also need buttons or levers and pistons

actually if we are doing basic things, why not make a semi automatic tnt cannon? or an advanced minecart storage system. Hope it works out

Wow, I never even considered making a vending machine in my games, sounds like a pretty fun idea. Thanks for giving me something to do tonight

I actually made a semi auto tnt cannon already. trying to add a cobblestone generator to make it feed in so it reloads. Oh And i would love to have some help making that minecart storage system I wanted to make one earlier but I dont know enough to make one.
What about a working ATM? It is a very simple design that is extremely helpful in "servers" with more than one currency.
Necessary resources:
Minecart with Chest
Powered Rails
Rails
Redstone Dust/Torches
Buttons
One stack of Dirt/Cobblestone/Stone/etc.
Figure out the rest.
Oh, sorry. I edited while you were responding. I would suggest that you build it on your own so that you can feel more accustomed to creating mechanisms.
If you would like more advanced stuff make an escalator. I made one with my own design and it works:) . You just need 1 stack of building blocks, redstone, redstone repeaters, sticky pistons, and pistons. The secret is if your looking forward and there is a block on your right side and a piston on your left side, when the piston extends it will push you forward:)
EDIT: You also need a lever, button, or a pressure plate. I suggest using a pressure plate.
I like making more useful things. What I'm working on:
Secret door with a chamber full of chests with precious items in them like gold, diamond, etc.... Once you enter, the door closes behind you....redstone repeaters...then the ceiling opens up to reveal a ton of water pouring down on you.
While underwater, you need to find the button to close the ceiling again otherwise you will die. This prevents any theft of my diamonds when friends are playing.
The last 2, I have built and tested to work 100% on XBox. Not sure that #1 works, and may cause lag, as there's a lot going on, but it looks really cool!
i recently just built a secret door leading to my caves which is hidden by a waterfall which is all concealed off by pistons keeping the water in a pond around the door until you pull the lever

I suggest using a button because it is much smaller and less detectable. Just connect two buttons to a T-flp/flop one button outside to get you inside and one button inside for you to get out of the cave. If you dont know what a T-flip/flop is check this video () then connect the T flip/flop to a Piston time extender here is the video for the piston time extender () I know this way too advanced but it has better benefits than a lever If you want help my gamertag is Moved2USA

That's a good idea i might try it but I've got redstone everywhere lol so squeezing some more things in might be a bit of a task.
I enjoy making defense systems like a 3x3 door and a 3x3 bridge over lava. Also i enjoy making slime mechs. For example playing minecraft i mad a small fortress and on the need if ever someone got past my other defenses i had a missile sylo my own design and a small rocket my own design as well and had that shoot me up into the air where a small slime block car awaited me.

In my eyes no minecraft world is complete without a wither power tree farm, since timber is the most used item in game, and who really likes to go out collecting stacks and stacks of wood any way, it's always the first thing I build in my world, in my Xbox one world iv got three, two in the nether one in the end... if you're interested you should check out a youtuber called "ilmango"as he is the king of tree farms...

Why would you go to all the trouble of trying to move a second wither to the nether for a tree farm? Do you really need so much wood that one such farm was inadequate? And why would this of all things be the first thing you built?

Also, why would you build even one?
I don't really understand the first part of question!!! Maybe you misread mine... it's my Xbox one world it would have a larger nether then 360 I guess but because it's larger we can trap up 6 withers once we're outside the loaded area...
The first tree farm I built was just my go too farm for birch logs for making basic nessities as at the time I didn't have my villager or witch farm and was kinda low on redstone, the second and third are universal 1x1's, when over 4j allows us to spawn multiple withers in the loaded area I will build more bigger faster ones, and iv already started forming cages for them incase 4j manage to remove bedrock breaking...
Well i lied a little there because first id to build a temporary wither pad to get a few skulls to build it but i had it built on my second week once i gathered what resources I needed.
Simple because timber is the most used item ingame for me, most people would build there iron farms first but I'd use far more logs then iron so it just made since.
Have you ever harvested full inventories of logs, it's no fun!!!
I would consider myself more a technical player Im no builder/decorater, I haven't even got a house! It's what I get my kicks out of iv also had a wither power obsidian farm and I'm working on a giant brown mushroom farm in the overworld just under my guardian farm for potions but it hasn't really been working out, I may have to break the bedrock completely out...
I also find the noice completely addictive
