Loaded up my game for the first time tonight since the update. I have a store room with 30 chests and signs for each one and noticed that the text on the signs goes from looking normal to getting very dark and distorted from a distance or if the sign is out of a certain range near the cursor. Any one else notice this? I exited and reloaded just to see if it was a glitch but its still there. Thanks!
Never heard of that glitch before, but I will load up my world tomorrow and check that out.
Thanks. I notice that they get significantly darker from 6-7 blocks away. Also has the same effect when looking at them from certain angles. My brother logged into my world and its doing it on his system too.
Wait, the text only or the top of the sign itself? If it's the text, then I never heard of it, and if the sign top, then it's normal (For the PC version atleast). It happened on my PC version 1.7.3 and still does it now. It happens to me all the time, and sometimes the game does it with my chests. Don't worry, hopefully Notch will fix this soon.

Thanks for checking. Someone in the bug thread suggested I clear the cache and see what happens so I will try that later on. He saw the same thing a few times.

Its the text only. When I am 6 or 7 blocks away it gets really bold and dark and then goes back to normal when I get closer. Now that I think about it, these signs are placed on the back of stairs for a compact storage system. There are torches behind each of the steps for light. (Using a storage system based on this thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/181676-efficient-mass-storage-designs/ A few posts down in the thread is a cut shot of how the steps and torches are placed) I'll have to see if signs do this on solid blocks as well.
