So, i've exhausted almost everything you can do in this game but recently i've started doing something I haven't seen anyone else do. Build my own custom biomes. It started out with just replacing all the leaves on all the trees with pink wool. Then i realized i could go even further and build my own unique biomes. Im currently planning the following...
* Volcano biome
* Cave biome
* Underwater biome
* Biomes with all gravel for the ground
* Skyblock biomes
* Sugar Cane Forest biome

Let me know if you have any ideas!

I've built a jungle island, since I couldn't wait to try making some tree houses. Had to terraform the island first to make it look better, then put down about 300 wood towers of 3 to 16 blocks tall, with spruces planted at the top. Looks a little out of place from a distance, like a giant chia pet on the ocean, but it works.

I wonder if you could make an eruption with pistons under blocks with lava on top. Hit a switch, the lava comes up and flows over the edge of the caldera.

Pistons can't push lava. If you try to push a lava source block with a piston or a piston pushing another block, it just gets rid of the lava.

Nope. Fluids and pistons don't mix. As soon as another block is pushed into the source block of either water or lava, that fluid no longer exists.

Volcano's are actually easy to make. Its the erupting part thats a problem.

I was worried about the wool trees too, but they have been up for almost 3 weeks now and one have burned down

You can use pistons to block lava though... so maybe some well placed holes where lava comes out when the piston is retracted?

Now I want a volcano.

I couldn't wait for the update to get ravines, so I'm digging my own. When I get done/bored with that I'll be trying to make a realistic looking river flowing across a big chunk of the map.

And I love the pink trees idea... might have to make a surreal world myself.

you could always us obsidian as the core for your mountain and use TNT to erupt it...... or at least for the sound affect.... TNT drops once lit so maybe a piston pushes it into the lava then it lites and drops down a 1x1x6 obsidian shaft and boom. great eruption sound affect.

He never said anything about pushing obsidian. He said the piston would push TNT.
