I was looking on a website that offers some of the better map seeds, and "ice tastes better melted"'s description implies that the map is a "surprise". Does anybody know this map, and would you happen to know whats so surprising about it? All that I see is a large body of water and some mountains (some overhang and even float).
Like I said in my first post, I gave it a brief tour and found nothing spectacular about it. There were a couple floating chunks of land and A LOT of water, nothing else. I didn't actually tour the entire thing, im just jumping from seed to seed finding what suits me best. I don't have the time to thoroughly check every map someone recommends, unfortunately.
EDIT: What im getting at is that im probably missing some major detail about the map that most others do not have. If the topic creator of that forum is suggesting the best maps, to label one a "surprise" must really mean a lot, right?

No I hear ya. There might be something worthwhile below ground though that could be a surprise. Golden Apples maybe? I haven't found any on the 5 maps I'm working on and so far on each one I've found at least 7-8 per map but only 2 music discs and no Golden apples. There could even be a dungeon above ground where you might've missed it I actually might try it out myself

To be honest, i didn't even know it was hacking. I typed up "Xbox Minecraft water maps" on Google, and this is what I found. I didn't read far-enough to even acknowledge it WAS a hacking website.

The bridge idea sounds like a good one. i was going to do something like that when I played worstseedever but I was trying to re-enact Hardcore for PC on the 360 so the first time I died I deleted that world. I might actually go back and play it. I definitely want to see what the surprise is tho. The suspense is killing me. off topic question Anyone know how many maps you can have altogether? I already have 5 maps going and wonder if making 1or2 more would be allowed

I might try that one also. Going with a few maps is good to break up some of the monotony and I think Major knows what i mean since he's doing 14 maps going. try a few out so you don't get bored as much. Also another good seed I found was "Ned Stark's *******" which has alot of surface dungeons along w/many other undergound dungeons. It's got snow,mountains and a huge desert biome. Cactus and sugar cane for days. Also "Sansa Stark" is another good one. When i get time to play i like to mix it up w/different maps at a time

Yeah man, I need to do that. I cant stand the sight of snow, and it's an insult to injury when I lose my roads to the stuff. I just found my ideal water map though. This ones long, but cool: 5565208666574104503
I found a massive body of water in the center of the map. Much of its lowest point is 10 blocks deep (or really, really dark to read my map). Better start smelting that sand and seclude myself to my underwater city >: )
I'll also let you know if I find anything because i do love to explore my maps as much as possible. i think i will try it later tonite

BTW that seed "Apocalypse" is loaded with exposed iron and diamonds. I can also give you the monster spawner coords and slime coords, as well, if you're interested. I was very satisfied with it
