so i was all excited for this update because in my world i have created a lot of cool elevators piston doors and other creations with pistons, and i thought this update would fix the problems with me getting suck inside of the pistons, and the pistons not pulling blocks back at times, but nope. still not working in the least for me.
Please try again 4J
Edit:
Just found anouther problem with the pistons in the five seconds after playing the game... When a piston pushes a block of whole that has a color on it such as... Red wool... the wool will turn white. until it is pulled back by the piston.

I believe they are working on it, but I could be wrong. I made a statement similar to yours that said the update did nothing to fix my piston elevator. The only issue I was experiencing was the piston issue. Everything else on the bug fix list didn't apply to me, although I'm sure others have experienced them. Soon after I made my statement, a 4J representative responded asking what my elevator problems were. I told him, but he hasn't responded again since, to my knowledge.
They may or may not be working on it, but at least they're showing some concern. I still have confidence in 4J.
Who said they were fixing everything about piston problems.
Here is the piston fixes
- Fix for a crash with pistons at the edge of the world
- Fix for a crash due to a thread safety issue usually caused by pistons
- Fix for issue with operating pistons on chunk boundaries
- Fix for a rendering flicker with active pistons

This is the issue that apparently wasn't fixed. I'm not the only one who still has this problem.
Nobody said they fixed everything about pistons, but it seems that not everything about pistons on their bug fix list was fixed.

The flicker throws off the precise timing that is used by elevators and several other creations that allows them to function properly.
And to everyone else, stop trying to one up each other. You look like children.
