You took my post way out of context. I have absolutely no issue with it, im just calling someone out for their lousy sarcasm.
It wasn't really meant to be directed strictly at you, just a lot of the people on this thread posting about their thoughts on duplicating. Which by the way I also wanted to mention that I respect other's opinions on the matter, but at the same time it bothers me when people who dupe are constantly looked at as the "bad guys". Sorry for any misconception of my previous post.
You people do realize that each difficulty only changes how much damage a mob does, right?
Creepers are still as deadly on easy, lava is still as burning, fall damage is still as painful, ores don't appear more/less depending on the difficulty.
Spiders do the same amount of damage on easy and normal. Skeletons and zombies do a half heart more damage on normal.
Also, leaderboards seem kinda pointless, seeing how easy it is to grind up and/or use dupes to get stacks of the items needed.

Yes, the leader boards are just the leader boards. Achievements are just achievements. Minecraft is just a game, and these are just the forums. Some people like the added stats or achievements as it adds more objectives to the game. Nothing wrong with that. Not only are the scores a bit glitchy, but it appears they max out at 65k. Bummer. Hope the max gets raised. Also, I question if placing a block and then mining it up over and over adds to the stats. I don't think duping offers too much of an advantage, if at all; not that I dupe.

Everytime I play split screen one of my leaderboards gets reset. Like once the kills got reset, once my mining stats got reset and so on. Each time it happened they eventually went back my stats from before they got reset plus whatever i did in the meantime. Just keep checking your leaderboard and hopefully you will see that happen too.
Also, why the beef about someone enjoying keeping up with their stats on the leaderboard. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people can't. I am sure there are things you do in minecraft that other people would consider stupid too.

Only people who show off and don't have the skill dupe to the leaderboards. Another thing. WHO CARES! Me and my friends only look at the leaderboards and number 1 in the top to say DAMN! And to just see between friends if someone has a large amount. You have to dumb to care about LEADERBOARDS. Just play the game and don't care if someone has more kills then you. You want to be in the leaderboards to show off to other people? Shut up and start killing! You reset? Then stop caring about leaderboards and start making a village and having fun killing zombies.
I enjoy the leader boards. That is, at least from rank 75 and below. The rest are all OBVIOUSLY modded. 65K obsidian?! Whatever. You'd still be mining! Oh well, it's entertaining to see how your own obsessiveness compares to others.

That's really interesting, you should post that in the bugs thread above. So many people complain about leaderboard resets but don't post a clear set of circumstances.
I'm at about 150 for mining on normal, and it it weren't for the 50 or so cheaters in the top spots I'd be at roughly 100 or better.
The leaderboards are nothing amazing but it's of interest to me to see that my enjoyment of the game exceeds that of over three million other people. I'm perhaps less interested in Notch's beard or the Olympics, which must explain why other people aren't playing enough.
