I played this save last night and it worked fine, always has for the past month or so since I created it.

Well Xbox makes you apply the update or if you try to play offline it acts like it's the trial version of the game.... wack.

Anyways when I try to load my save after the update the screen just freezes before it even gets to the loading bar. It freezes up my xbox too so I can't even push the home button or back out of the game, I have to restart it each time.

This happens on both of my xboxes so don't say buy a new one, I just got the brand new Star Wars one when it came out. I also have about 5-6 copies of the save on both hard drives, usb sticks and cloud storage so there's no way it could have been corrupted by me. (I've tried copying each of them to the xbox hard drive).

I've also deleted the game and all files entirely, reset the cache 3 times, reset the xbox, installed the game, then tried again.

I can make a new world but really don't want to considering the countless hours put into my existing one.

So something in this new update broke my save file. Has anyone ever fixed this or contacted the game developers for help? I can't find any way to contact them about the issue, and would really like to get my game working or get a refund considering I can't play it anymore. Not to mention it's crazy you can't play the game without being on xbox live.

Any help is appreciated.

Google "Twitter 4J" they respond on Twitter, suprisingly.

I don't see how, they're from different times and have all worked up until the update last night.

Does anyone know of a way to play the game without being connected to xbox live? I find it disturbing that's a requirement of the game. What if I wanted to take my xbox on vacation and didn't have internet, or didn't want to renew xbox live?

go to settings then system then network setting then disconnect.

Thanks but apparently that only works on the xbox you bought the game on. Since I bought 2 xboxes from M$, I'm not able to play the game I purchased on my other console. Pretty ridiculous considering I've played it online the whole month and just want to play offline now so I don't have to apply the update which makes my game freeze my xbox.

Still looking for contact info for the developer, anyone have any ideas?

For the console you want to play it offline on, do this.

Guide Button > Settings > Account Management > License Transfer

After following the steps, go to your download history and redownload Minecraft. You should be able to play it offline on the console of your choice now. You won't be able to play it offline on the other one though, as your transferring the license to your new one.

That is correct. XBL digital purchases will only work offline on the purchasing console. That's the way they have always been.

And you can license transfer to a different console every few months to have it play offline. OP, follow the guide above. It'll help you out.

That won't solve his problem completely, Kmack. He owns 2 Xboxes, and he can only play his games offline on one of them, regardless of license transfers.

If I'm correct he wants to play offline on his Star Wars Xbox. So this will fix the problem for him.

Not true. You can be disconnected entirely from the internet and play MC, on any profile, as long as you do it on the Xbox you used to buy it with.

Haha yep pretty much can only play offline on one of them... lame imo but I guess hackers are to blame

I cleared the cache on the xbox it was purchased on then unplugged and tried to load it again and it still froze so I guess my save was somehow corrupted. Unfortunately the only one I got to load was pretty old so I'm not sure what else I can try.

Is there any troubleshooting for corrupted saves? I didn't do anything that should have damaged the file, just saved, quit then shut off the xbox like I always do.
