you, my friend, have an issue. this happens to me, but not on such a large scale. a couple of times, i had 3 skeletons knocking me around with staggered fire while a couple creepers closed the distance but not This bad.
once though, i was on SP, i saw a red dot on Rei's minimap and charged out to meet what i thought was a spider. i needed a bow, having just started the game. when i located the dot, i found a friendly creeper charging towards me. i had 5 FPS at the time so i could just run. he chased me 500+ m into the ocean before i managed to kill him.
since then, Every creeper i see, gets the hack 'n' slash maneuver to the face.
Boy oh boy.. Thats baad but i know how you feel. I have recently Started Playin on Hard because i thought Normal mode was kind of too easy for me and i dont really enjoy playin on peaceful or easy because it doesn't bring much of a challenge to me. So Anyways I have this cave that i just finished lighting up its pretty huge. So yea onwards i went and boom i get jumped by four to five skeletons, about three to five creepers, and a couple of spiders, not over yet, An army of zombies I was next to a freakin zombie spawner -.- i almost got mauled but i had to run back and get some tools and i swear they multiplied O_O i raged and said "This Is SPARTA!!!!"

That was hilarious. I never did have trouble with creepers since I'm always underground. I only go to the surface if I wanted to finally build my real house after I gathered enough resources from my mining. It does get troublesome when a creeper decides to ambush me from ontop of a cliff. Like it drops down while I'm not looking (busy farming crops) then just blows me up along with my land I made.
Freakkin creepers! Worse mob in the game, hands down. Yesterday I finished my mob grinder (finally) and was giving it a good test. After gathering up an okay amount of loot my daughters wanted to know what bone meal did. I make some and head up the stairs from my underground work area. It's dark out so we just wait it out until the sun comes up. I'm building a large sky building and the shadow it casts is messing up how quickly the lovely skeletons and zombies are taking to burn up. FINALLY the coast is clear and I venture out, bone meal in hand and go to the nearest green patch (I'm working in a desert) and sprinkle the bone meal and the girls squee at all the flower that come up. We do this 8-10 times when I see this flash of movement just at the edge of the screen. I turn around just in time to see that sadistic green grin right on top of me. ******* blew up right on me before I could even put any distance between us. Where the bugger came from remains a mystery.

I am a Minecraft tourist. I am currently unavailable under the XBoxLIVE ID listed here but can be found under ZombieL0C0. If you see me online playing Minecraft, send a message and I will gladly take a stroll through your world.
Gotta love it when a creeper falls down in front of you so you turn tail and run the opposite direction only to have two more standing there to blow you to smithereens! Happens on both Xbox and PC to me... I don't see it getting better and as much as it makes me crazy, I kinda love those moments where I nearly jump out of my chair because of the shocked surprised state it puts me in.... I just learned to not worry too much about what you lose... Makes the game more fun for me... I always play on hard, with rare moments of going to peaceful, usually to fix something like my mob spawner if I am blocked from getting in by too many mobs
As I'm playing last night, I decided I wanted to do some in-progress screenshots of our skull mountain project. I climb down to the bottom, line up the shot, and just as I press the buttons to capture, a friend pops out of a nearby hole. I died in the process.
And to make all the creeper-haters happy, check out this video (not mine)
I have a large cabin by a pond. After a while I noticed creepers walking around more often. A day later after dieing many time, I looked at my property and it looked a war zone with craters everywhere. Took me a while to fill in all the holes and my house. I don't get bothered by them to much anymore but still... They always seem to sneak up on me...

I've also noticed that when they're right behind you and you don't know it, they never seem to explode until you turn around and see them less than a block away. It's like they're trying to give people heart attacks.
This time I was in my secret base. I was done with what I was doing, so I started to go back to my house to work on an interior design project. I slept in the bed in my secret base to see if it was night, and it let me sleep so it's a good thing I tried that. I opened up the base and started to come out, but then I saw three Creepers running at me. I quickly turned around and started running as fast as I could (walking because we don't have sprint yet ) and I closed the door behind me. Unfortunately, a Creeper made it through and continued its pursuit. I wasn't able to kill it before it exploded, but the damage it did was very minimal and I was easily able to repair it. I knew my only way out was blocked, so I dug through some dirt so I could get to the surface. The first block that I removed that opens to the surface had a Creeper face staring at me. I killed that one through the small hole rather easily because it could not fit through or explode on me. I dug out one more bit of the hole so that I could fit through and make a run for my house, but three more Creepers were waiting for me. They could fit in the hole this time though. I swung my sword as fast as I could so I could prevent them from coming through, and I managed to defeat them all. I was able to make it to my house with no losses.
I finished my interior designing, but by then it was night. I slept in my bed so I could go into my mine to get some obsidian. I woke up to find three Creepers, a Zombie, and a Skeleton camped out on my front porch (which has an overhang, so the sunlight doesn't get in but it is lit up with torches). This is the only way out of my house, so I had to search for another way out. I took some bricks with my so I could patch the hole I made in the wall on my way out. I looked through all my windows and I was literally surrounded by Creepers. I went to the top floor of my house and dug out a hole so that I could access my roof. I patched the hole, and examined the perimeter again. I was still surrounded. My only hope was to jump off my roof and make a mad dash toward a valley full of pigs at the bottom of my mountain so that I can recover all the damage I take. I plunged off my roof sustaining quite a bit of damage and took off towards the valley. I knew the Creepers were behind me so I didn't bother turning around. As I was running, I took out my flint and steel so I could set the pigs on fire to get cooked pork chops. I burned a few pigs and gathered my food, but the Creepers arrived. It was too late to switch to my sword, so I set a few Creepers on fire and kept running. Luckily, they burned to death while chasing me which gave me time to switch to my sword. I managed to kill three more, but two more exploded and I was severely hurt. Fortunately, the pork chops were enough to restore my health to a safer level. Now that the latest al-Qaeda attack was over, it's time to mine some obsidian.
I knew where my obsidian was, so days ago I completely lit up the cavern where I first discovered it. I made my way there and began mining. I needed one more block for my Nether portal, but then out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a Creeper running at me. I dropped down a crevice near a lava pool and went around the perimeter of the pool, setting fire to the perimeter as I ran. I made sure to have enough fire to deter the Creeper as much as possible and I took out my sword just in case and waited. A full minute passed, and still no Creeper. I started going back to where I was mining and I put out the fire in order to get to that spot. I made one look to where I spotted him chasing me, and he wasn't there. I was about to go back to mining when the Creeper jumped down from the ledge opposite where he came from and exploded, killing me. I respawned and gathered my things. Luckily it was all still there. I looked in the spot where the Creeper jumped down, and I realized there was no possible way for the Creeper to reach the ledge, unless they can jump a gap of three blocks. I also don't know how he spawned in the first place, as there are enough torches to light up the whole cavern I was in. There are dark parts deeper into the cave system, but they are very far from where I was.
So, al-Qaeda continues to assault my property and terrorize me. I might have a new story every day, but I definitely hope not! What does everyone think of this one?
I'm horrible at dealing with creepers. More often than not I run into at least a pair of them or I'll get up try to leave me house after sleeping and they'll just be loitering outside in droves.
Or they'll just be IN my house when I get back from exploring even though I have more than enough light.

Creepers, man.
Yeah, it seems like every time there's some obscure patch dark enough to allow anything to spawn, it HAS to a creeper...I stay away from the surface at night. My above ground home is just under the cloud line with a water-sign elevator that's also sealed from the outdoors. My other base is underground with any 'questionable' areas, such as good mining cave systems or my slime farm, equipped with a door. A slight dark spot on top of a structure on my cabin's platform? Creeper spawns (that one got filled with arrows before it caused any issues). Person opens up a cave system in one of the areas and leaves it open? Two creepers show up inside my base (one of which destroyed a full double chest) on two different occasions before I find the opening. Never seeing spiders in these situations is pretty understandable, since spiderproofing areas is easy, but otherwise, why not a skelly? Why not a zombie? It's as if creepers have higher spawn rates because of these rare 'dark spots' that people miss, but it makes things a little crazy in large dark areas like outdoors.. I also tend to get a lot more gunpowder from my mob system than other things.

possibly the most annoying monster ive faced in any game... and that little smirk on thier faces!
recently, they seem to spawn in packs of four and are relentless. im fairly new to the MCXBOX and do not remember anything like this on the PC
feel like i have to run backwards to keep an eye on em!

Just wanted to put that out there in case people misunderstood my view on Creepers.
Anyway, I really like the others storied that were posted. I'm sorry that they're terrorizing everyone though haha.
Makes it feel a bit even sometimes.
