I have never used the slime finder. Go down to around level 10 or so, and start digging. I strip mine, dig out long tunnels and move over 2 blocks and start mining again. Sooner or later you are bound to run across a chunk. When you nail down where they spawn, you can dig that area out more.
That is if you don't want to use the finder or can't figure it out.
If you don't want to use a slime finder, then you will have to just try to look for them and have a little luck. Just start digging out big rooms below layer 16 and hope that there is a slime chunk there. If not, you will have to repeat the process until you find slimes.
I dont see why not. The slime finder website is ridiculously simple. Any chimp could figure it out. Once you find a slime chunk, just get as much TNT as you can create, go to bedrock and mine out a massive area.
easiest way is to dig down to 4 or 5 layers above the bottom(aka bedrock) and just start making rooms 3 blocks high and any direction. make the rooms bigger then 4x4. I make 32x32 square room climb up ladder say 20 blocks away wait 10 mins afk on ladder and go back down to room if no slimes spawn i expand it 32x32 one direction diagonally. so the corner of the 32x32 square room touches the other corner of the 32x32 square room. Its easier to find them diagonally then strait. Also remember to put lights every 4 blocks. for example is u start in the corner place a torch then go 4 space over include the current torch space and place another. This way no mobs spawn here. if mobs spawn smiles have smaller chance to spawn.
You really need to learn to use the websites. It's not that hard. Just look at the coordinates on your map.
They will save you hours of wasted work. Instead of digging and digging until you find a spot that will spawn slimes, you can dig only where you need to, and maximize your effort by digging out the whole chunk.
Just remember, you might as well dig down to bedrock to start digging out the chunk. I believe that, in this version of the game, slimes will only spawn below level 16. In later versions that was moved up to level 40.
Incase you didnt want to click my sig and goto my thread here is what I wrote
A chunk is 16x16, you can use various tools to find out where your slime chunks would be http://extension.ws/...aft/slimes.html is one of those sites with a tool.
Note to everyone. People cannot get the above website to work with IE, please use Firefox or Chrome (there may be other browsers that work but these two are confirmed so far)
So there has been alot of people getting confused about the slime finder tool and the coordinates thing
so I'll try to sum it up in the next picture.
1: Here is where we enter our seed.
2: Then we click this Update Map and it will show slime chunks on the grid ( 5 )
3: We can center the map on specific coordinates by entering them in these 2 boxes ( x and z ) This is so we can search around a specific area.
4: We then click Go there so our grid gets updated to those specific coordinates.
5: This is our generated grid from our seed.
6:The green squares represent slime chunks and if you mouse over them it will display the chunks border with coordinates.
7:Our coordinates of the chunk border displaying in this pic -16,-112 to 0,-96
This part confuses alot of people.
You could say looking at the grid, top being north that -16 is the top left of the chunk, -112 is the bottom left, 0 is the top right and -96 is the bottom right. Our border is made up of these 4 coordinate numbers. -16 being 'X' -112 being 'Z'.
You would travel to -16 'X' and dig out the perimeter of your slime chunk dont forget under layer 16
(-16 x dig until you hit 0 x, then to Z -96 and back to Z -112) after you perimeter is dug out you then want to dig out everything inside that border.
To find your seed (if you havent already) Save your world then go back to your world selections. Your seed will be displayed in the list along with online game, invite only etc etc.
