When I first started playing, I kept the music on. It soon became annoying because it started playing in my head, so I turned it off. However, recently I decided I missed the music so I turned it back on. I didn't last ten minutes before I had to turn it off again hahaha.
So anyway, how about everyone else? On or off? Why?
When I'm playing recreationally, I keep the music on. However if I'm recording for my Let's Play I turn it off... Had too many run-ins with copyright claims on YouTube because of music so I keep it off on everything I record. I voted on.
Sometimes I pop a record in and listen to it, but not the default music. I keep that at 0%.

Ideas I would like to see in vanilla Minecraft: 1) A grinding machine — similar to a furnace, but breaks down items like a leather tunic into pieces of leather. 2) Recycling — the ability to smelt metal tools and pieces of armor back into their respective ingots. 3) A hammer — used to break down cobblestone into gravel, and gravel into sand. 4) A study — a work bench that takes an enchanted item and a plain book to extract enchantments at the cost of experience.
Music OFF, Unicorn Kid ON, ready to play minecraft! : )
Edit: To elaborate, I think Unicorn kid's 8-bit style music meshes well with the enviornments in minecraft. My personal faves are Lion hat, 8-byte, and wild life, but there are plenty of other good ones too. (Wee monsters, Dream catcher, Biscuits, the list goes on.)
I like to listen to my own music. The in-game music doesn't fit what I'm doing most of the time. Like ill be fighting mobs and there will be a soft piano in the background. I like to have fast paced music playing to get me pumped.
On, for hear the creepers sneaking up behind me...

But I usually have my custom playlist for Minecraft songs on too :3

Retired StaffI do, however, put my Beats on (if not in a party) and listen to music that isn't boring.
