Whenever consoles are made they base themselves on the current highend/medium laptop hardware "cause thats basicly what a console is, which is a laptop" even six years ago when the Xbox 360 was made there was still some better hardware out on the market even then.
Todays gaming desktops are far and beyond the hardware of consoles its not even funny, dont believe me just lookup some vids of Battlefield 3 on pc vs either of the consoles.
Ps my computer is not only meant for browsing, in this day and age of tech most computers can run 20+ windows of youtube and load them without crashing. Ive had over 50 on mine "just for grins and giggles to see how many it can do without freaking out to bad.
The Xbox hardware dates back to 2003-2004 (development) and features a triple-core 64-bit processor with a custom ATI video card. It also comes with a 5.1 surround sound audio card and 512 MB of GDDR3 RAM. I cannot think of very many mid-high end laptops that featured those specs in 2003-2004 when the XBox360 was being developed. Most desktop computers during that time were still featuring dual-core processors (and many still do today) and GDDR2 RAM. Sure, there were some better systems out there, but to say that it is based on mid-high level laptops is, in my opinion, off the mark.
As for today's PCs, of course you're going to find that they are more powerful. They are running off of the newest technology and many advances have been made over the last 7 years. That being said, you better be prepared to put thousands into a PC that will run Battlefield 3 at max settings with a good frame rate as opposed to a few hundred on an Xbox where you are getting a comparable game with less graphic prowess.
Edit: Maybe thousands is a bit off, but certainly more than $1500.

What about the Xbox 360 Slim, does it run off of newer tech as I do believe it was released around the same time as Reach, but for the life of me, alls I know is it's newer
sure, the mod is free for PC,
but i dont want to sit in my computer chair, at a 19 inch screen to play minecraft.
I wanna play it with a controller on my 40 inch TV.
And while I would prefer that all DLC/updates be free...I have watched the tekkit vids on youtube and would pay $5 to have that on the xbox version. That would add soooo many more hours of gameplay to the game.
Ok iv watched a lot of tekkit videos ( mostly tekkit with Duncan yogscast) on YouTube but I play more minecraft Xbox 360 version just because I think that the feel is a bit more quicker and I have a lot more control over what I'm doing. So I have thought about it and decided that I would shell out 20 dollars or more for a tekkit expansion pack for the Xbox 360 version.think about it...sooo many pipes and factories and destruction catalyst...sooo much cool stuff is in tekkit and I think that it would be absolutely amazing to have that option in the Xbox 360 version.and another thing....I find it very boring to dig for the same things over and over (coal, iron, gold, lapis lazul, and diamonds) and with tekkit you would have all sorts of items to dig for....and also I have the computer version in case anyone was wondering that
YESSSSSS PLEASE ADD TEKKIT TO MC 360 EDITION!!!!!! I ALSO WATCH YOGSCAST. TEKKIT IS THE BEST MOD PACK EVER!!!!!!!!! My parents refuse to get me MC for PC because i bought it for xbox.
Give tekkit a bit of time before wanting it on the xbox.. From what I have scanned over from playing it is that the bugs are quite common.. plus for it to even become a part of the xbox version a lot more coding will have to be done to make it work the same. Since the main functions would have to be rewritten in C++ from Java. I like the idea of having it for xbox, but since it's a free mod now I wouldn't pay another $20 for it.

yea,but you would be paying them to fix said bugs.
I wouldn't buy, if I wanted to play Minecraft with mods I would just go on the PC, it is completely free and hassle free. And noone would pay for a mod that other people can use for free, if you want the same effect as Minecraft XBLA just get a computer with HDMI port, get an HD TV, get a Xbox controller, Get minecraft 1.9, tekkit 1.9 and simply use the controller to control the PC version on an HD TV. There you go same thing as the xbox for FREE. (assuming you have an HD TV an HDMI cable, an Xbox controller and a PC with an HDMI port. That is like the standard now adays if i'm not mistaken)
WTF who the hell are you to tell me I cant post in a thread because i've pointed out one of the posters is giving people incorrect information? no wonder these forums are going to ****.
If you want to believe the lies people tell you then go ahead, but don't have a go at other people just because they can see through these people who dont know what they are talking about.
If you actually argued why they're wrong then I'll be glad to hear what you believe. But saying "that alone proves you dont know what you're talking about" is annoying, it doesn't help, and it's un-construtive for conversation.
If you wanna actually explain your reasoning then I'll be glad to read your posts even if I disagree with you.
So go ahead, explain why he's wrong. If not, just go away.
I'd rather pay $20 download it and play anytime bug free.
It's probably not going to be bug-free. If they take the time to perfect it and make it so that bugs are very very rare and everything works nearly perfectly then I'd gladly pay $20-$30 for it, but that would take a lot of coding, testing, re-coding, testing, re-coding etc
It would take a long time to make it almost completely bug free, is my point
I would pay money for a tekkit expansion if 4j were able to improve the performance. Tekkit on the PC is so much more pc intensive than vanilla minecraft. And when you look at the 360 version of mc, it's still somewhat laggy. I don't feel as if they would be able to code so much into the game as easily as everyone wants.
Do I think it will happen? Probably not but I'd still like it if they ever make it happen.

Yeah,I get what you mean but eventually it would be perfected.

If you agree with him explain wtf this means 'basic video game programming for console'
Well I assume it means the programming and coding that goes in the video game consoles. But I didn't say I agree with him did I? I said if you want to argue and say he's wrong explain why. Dont be an asshole

They know it alright.
They're just wishing.
Threads like this make 4J's day. They need a good laugh.
Same goes with you. And how do you know that "Threads like this make 4J's day" do you work for 4J? I highly doubt it.
I'm pretty sure hes not the only one that wants you gone
