im sorry but i cant help but laugh at all these people saying "when xbla catches up to pc" ... its not going to happen unless mojang stops patching the pc version... besides the hardware in the xbox360 is nowere good enough to run most of the things technic throws at the system. and the further the unlikelyhood of this the coding from xbla version vs pc is so hugely different that there is just no chance of any of the current mods being transfered... dont get me wrong i would love for this to happen but i would also like a block of gold in real life... about the same odds...
ps. anyone who says they would pay for something that was designed to be free kudo's but maby you should save your money and buy a pc...
Theres alot of people working at 4J, we WILL catch up to the PC. It WILL happen. And you really should stop being so negative, everybody in this section has faith in the xbox version of minecraft and apparently you don't. the xbox version will prosper, possibly go ahead of the PC version of minecraft. If all you are doing praising the PC version, you really don't belong in this section
There's absolutely no reason 4J & Microsoft will offer a contract to any modder asking for the rights to duplicate his PC mod, much less cough up any money to the modder for those rights. (And even if a modder did have MS knock on their door with a check in-hand, and doesn't take it, is an idiot). So much for free mods.
IF (big if), there's any mods at all, 4J will write their own original mods simply because of cost and control issues.
They may be something like some of these PC mods, and who knows, they may be even better!
Anyway, all these threads and posts asking for duplicates of the "PC" mods on the xbox is pointless.
It might be fun to wish, but it's never gonna happen.
but... they've done it before o -o and they dont have to ask for permission they just use the idea and alter it a bit, just like the breeding mod for example, started out as a mod, ended up in vanilla.
If 4j could code it, test it, optimize it, and through some witchcraft get it to run like clockwork at anything over 30fps on the 360, me and a large amount of others would happily pay another 1600-2000 msp for it. The shear scale of a project like that would be worth it.
I wish people would stop saying 'it will never happen', but it is plain ignorance to say that it should be free just because all other mods are free on pc. Possible or not the work that it would take to make that possible is equal to that which got the game to xbla in the first place, and would deserve no less credit nor cost.
Would you rather people just incessantly went on about it, asking every day where it is and if it’s possible, and whether it’ll be in the next update for the next year and a half then?
Ignored.

And by the way no one likes Tekkit almost everybody makes custom builds, Tekkit and Technic lags allot because of the coding and item id changes and think of that on the xbox it cant handle 50 pistons with all the machines going it would freeze your xbox just play it on the pc.

I have no idea what it will take to instill some faith into some of you guys.
Lets just keep it as a possibility. We might have DLCs in the near future, we might not.
I just think saying "No, it will never happen" is just plain ignorant.
You guys aren't even considering the fact that is still a possibility.
If we are getting texture packs, why can't we get mods (DLCs)?
Asking for a breeding mod is one thing, asking for practically a whole new game is something else
And what do you actually mean by 'done it before'? you do realise the XBLA version of minecraft isnt made by the same people the PC version is dont you?
its isn't a whole new game lol mods are modsthey add to the game and by they i dont mean 4j, but i mean itsthe same concept they just usesomeone elses idea and make into their own thing.
This is helarious, watching all of you bicker back and forth about this mojang owns the rights to mods and the add on is free and the xbox cant handle it, and the community doesnt have an input on the game. Well here is a couple things some of you probably do not realize.
1. Most of the additions in Minecraft have been community created items ex.(Pistons, redstone, breeding, stamina, sprint) Once they were widely noticed and Notch seen it was liked enough it became a part of the game.
2. The xbox can handle it cause initially all they have to do is create a new set of items, blocks, and mechanics its not as difficult and resource demanding as everyone thinks it is.( cant compare the resource issues of PC and xbox cause the game is in Java for pc and basic video game programming for console)
3. Considering that the initial statement about all future addons free is only applied to those who bought the game during the alpha version of the game on PC. Has nothing to do with the xbox version.
Just remember that it can be done, but they have to make a profit off of it, which they will due to the demand, you can complain and say that 20$ is to much but you know that if you want it bad enough you will buy it. Activision and Ea have already proved that with the premium crap which has become the new standard
The Xbox 360 can handle almost anything I mean look at the size of open world games like fallout and Red Dead Revolver.(and those who say thats different because the world has to create blocks to the worlds bottom, its not that much to say
Dirt
Stone
Gravel
Dirt
Stone
Stone
Bedrock.
With random coal and iron everywhere and very few other blocks near the bottom.)

That shouldn't even be an arguement, of course xbox can handle it. the xbox 360 is made for gaming, Adding tekkit to 360 shouldn't effect anything
Whoa 50 gigs? I think it would be less memory than Minecraft itself. Or a tad bit more, but no where near 50 gigs, thats just crazy. 5 gigs at the most, could be wrong though.

Why do you say that the community doesn't have an input on the game, then say that most of the updates are community-based? Are you just quoting what someone said?
Agree completly.

Well, it's not really a concern for if it can handle it more if we have enough space to store it all.
Tekkit is a rather large mod pack as it is.
http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/
Not to mention the Technic pack (which is single player)
http://www.technicpack.net/technic/
id give 50 or more gb for tekkit O_o
Lol?
