I have a pretty good feeling that Mojang will never release any sort of expansion pack. After all, they promised players that paying for the game gives you both the game and everything that will be added in the future. Not to mention that having Tekkit as an expansion would mean that it would become an official part of Minecraft, meaning it would probably have to be added to the PC version, and simply doesn't fit with the overarching theme of Minecraft.
Also, running a server with Tekkit already requires every person on the server to have Tekkit, meaning every person you wanted to play with would have to buy it as well.

It won't be an official update. Just like the skins, it would be a dlc. If they make it official, Notch wouldn't have to add it because the Pocket Edition of Minecraft has blue flowers.
Selling a modpack with stolen mods that would crash the console due to being so performance intensive? Nope.jpg.
It won't be a modpack with stolen mods because they would have to quote the original makers of the mods, and they would make it less intense so the crashes wouldn't happen as much
Back on the subject, I would easily pay $20 for something like the Tekkit pack. "But that is the price of the game it's self!" You say, but with something like Tekkit, they might as well make a whole new MInecraft game call Minecraft Tekkit version. Its like a whole new game...
First off, mods technically belong to Mojang, so 4J has no problems there.
Tekkit would only work if the host has the DLC, and they could make it so everyone has it, just not possible to be enabled. So, you would only need Tekkit if you were to host.
4J has already expressed intrest in mods, so i dont see the problem. The main thing Xbox does not have is RAM, this shouldnt be too big of a problem for just adding new items and ore.
I really dont understand this way of thinking that everybody has on here, when have 4j ever come out and said 'if people moan about it long enough we'll add it to the game'?
Does nobody realise the implications adding a mod like this to the game would have on the programming man hours, and the actual community as a whole? Releasing somthing like this would split the community down the middle, something 4J and microsoft would want to avoid at all costs. They cant risk a bunch of people having one version of the game, and another bunch of people having a different version, what would happen when people wanted to play together but didnt have the same mods? you think they'd just let people hop onto servers with content they havnt paid for running on it and just expect it to work for free because their friend bought it? GET REAL!
Adding mods like this to the game would open a MASSIVE can of worms, why dont people realise this. Do you really think they are going to add a mod to the game that they would have to constantly update along with the actual releases of the game? anybody who's been in the video games industry would tell you 'NO', it just dosnt make sense for them to add stuff like this to the game, especially whilst the actual build is still being worked on.
You'll be lucky if they add a new block or mob to the game, never mind a mod the size of the tekkit pack
No.Its simple marketing if your fanbase isn't happy then your sales go down.
Also,I think it is possible that we will see a Mod pack-tekkit edition in the future most likely after we catch up with pc.

Mojang isn't working on Minecraft: XBLA Edition. It's 4J studios.
On that note if we got Tekkit it would more than likely be paid DLC not a update to the game like 1.7.3
Also, then the host can make other worlds non-tekkit if he so chose. Maybe you could enable mods at the start of a world or something.
There's absolutely no reason 4J & Microsoft will offer a contract to any modder asking for the rights to duplicate his PC mod, much less cough up any money to the modder for those rights. (And even if a modder did have MS knock on their door with a check in-hand, and doesn't take it, is an idiot). So much for free mods.
IF (big if), there's any mods at all, 4J will write their own original mods simply because of cost and control issues.
They may be something like some of these PC mods, and who knows, they may be even better!
Anyway, all these threads and posts asking for duplicates of the "PC" mods on the xbox is pointless.
It might be fun to wish, but it's never gonna happen.
Ok iv watched a lot of tekkit videos ( mostly tekkit with Duncan yogscast) on YouTube but I play more minecraft Xbox 360 version just because I think that the feel is a bit more quicker and I have a lot more control over what I'm doing. So I have thought about it and decided that I would shell out 20 dollars or more for a tekkit expansion pack for the Xbox 360 version.think about it...sooo many pipes and factories and destruction catalyst...sooo much cool stuff is in tekkit and I think that it would be absolutely amazing to have that option in the Xbox 360 version.and another thing....I find it very boring to dig for the same things over and over (coal, iron, gold, lapis lazul, and diamonds) and with tekkit you would have all sorts of items to dig for....and also I have the computer version in case anyone was wondering that
hooray for another redundant post. but dude really just about everyone wants tekkit on xbox but frankly its not likely to ever happen
the specific mods cant be added, because mojang/4j dont own the rights to the mods i have said this many times and am getting tired of saying it so no most likely none of the mods from the pc wont be added

The only problem with that is that mods for the pc version are free, and paying even $5 for tekkit is way to much for a mod that is free for other people. I couldn't even stand that they wanted 160 mp for a skin pack, even though it came with 40+ skins, and they were quality skins. Don't call me cheap, I had a good 1600 mp to spend on random stuff. Mods will most likely come to Xbox, but not until after texture packs.
I don't have the link but I remember a tweet from one of the developers for mcx360 saying that mods will not be implemented as well as your own skin creator.

If the community wants something and they want it bad enough they will get it and alot of people seem to want this very bad.

Really?
No $20.

Likely being the keyword in that sentence.
