People are still thinking the PC and xbox should be the same. Major mistake. It's apples and oranges.
You can't compare the PC and xbox versions (interpretation of "minecraft") anymore than you can compare the xbox and PE versions.
Just because it's "minecraft" doesn't mean it's the exact same program with all the same features, or that's what free for one should be free for the other.
You wish it was.
But it's not.
There is no way in hell I would pay the same amount of money the game costs for an expansion.
man you must live in america because here in canada we dont have 1600 mp cards we have 1200 for 20 dollars and 2800 for 40 dollars so what are you complaining about we had to fork up 40 dollars to get minecraft
I love how people try to rationalize their frame-rate issues with "bad internet connection"; the issue is the hardware the Xbox has.
there aren't any frame rate issues until you go into multiplayer.. and there are VERY noticeable differences depending on who's hosting. If one of my friends hosts everyone lags pretty much constantly and random disconnects are relatively frequent, when i host it's fine for the most part. internet plays a large part in everyones gameplay when you're playing with other people.
....only they shouldn't charge since mods come free for the computer, so why not for xbox?
*facepalm*
What does one have to do with the other, really?
By that logic the modders should start charging for PC mods cause the xbox is.
Believe me, if Mojang themselves started putting out their own skins, mods, texture packs, etc., they would charge you for them!
....They should just implement it as an update.....
But isn't that what a update is... a mod??? For everybody? For free?
(Aren't we lucky, and spoiled, that "updates" are free- they could put them in several "expansion packs" and charge us!)
Anyway, I forget. Different terrain generation, additional biomes, ravines, strongholds, etc. as a mod would be great, but as an update? That doesn't count, does it?
Knowing microsoft, though, they probably would charge.
The maker/supplier (4J) is charging for their hard work- MS is just the vehicle used for distribution. They really don't have anything to do with the price. This is like saying it's the postman's fault for the price of the car part they delivered. You could've just as easily replaced "microsoft" with "sony" or "nintendo" and be blaming them.
This thread is really gonna be funny to read a year from now....
This isn't really possible because not just one persome made the pack, tons of people did, and they need a cut of the money. It would be VERY overpriced and they would need to re-code it to C++, that's why people annoy me complaining about updates being so slow. They have to RE-CODE it to another engine.
First off, it will be awesome to have tekkit on xbox, second off, sadly it will never happen. Here is the reason, i dont know how many items there are in tekkit but what i do know is, when you look at the not enough items mod gui, that it includes, it shows around 50 pages of items, and on vanilla minecraft there is about 10 pages, and they havnt even got near the amount of items on the computer yet, and think about that, 50 pages of items, thats A LOT of crafting recipies items to make, animations, it will never happen i am sad to say, and if it did it will be way into the future. And before you say anything about the creators of the original mods, creating them again just for xbox, they barely get paid for making it in the first place, and 4j studios wont pay them to make it, i am sorry but its just near impossible.
why would it be impossible, tekkit is a mod pack which has 11 mods in it, 4j can just give 1 per month so we can have tekkit. NOTHING is impossible.
tekkit is a collection of mods, not just a mod, that would be an epic amount of coding, and developers of those mods would need to be paid..... good luck with all that... not even 5% of those mods have been updated to even the current mc build... the xbox is fun and all, my favorite console, but mc is very shallow there... the pc version is miles better.... and all the add on stuff is free on pc, why pay for it?
That's great for players but how will that support the mod devs?
You don't need to support the mod devs 4j doesn't owe them crap. All they did was alter 4j/Mojang's product and 4j can do what ever they want to their own product, besides if a bunch of greedy modders suffer for the MC community to have tekkit let it be.

The modders created mods for minecraft. it's THEIR property, as outlined by mojang's copyright statements. if 4J wants to make the mods, in theory they could do that but a lot of the mods are protected by copyright statements, which (when it was first created, not anymore) tekkit violated originally by putting the mods into a modpack and asking for donations. the mods don't belong to 4J or to mojang (or tekkit) but to the mod creators, and selling them would be illegal.
There's gonna be a bunch of disappointed people around here.
What's funny is, either way, a year from now, there's gonna be a lot of "I told you so's" posted.
