Oh, correcting my on my grammar, mature. I read it, it's still a stupid statement. How can anyone find telling your friend to save the game and then crashing his / her server fun? That's dumb.
Calling someone an idiot just because you're incapable of undestanding his point. You must be so mature.

Where the hell did you find that part? You're making things up, dude.
The guy is talking about destroying something somebody made and (then) tricking them into saving. That's bad.
Griefing can be hilarious if you're not a **** about it.
Well that spun out of proportion. Some people don't have a sense of humor and just want to build, that's fine, I play with people like that too. But why judge me because my other friends and I play jokes on each other? I'm not doing it to you, am I? I just don't see what would infuriate someone so much about taking less than a minute to exit without saving and start the game again. Besides, 90% of the time these jokes end with the host saying, "Well, I have to re-load anyway, let's just grief everything." Then we proceed to have more fun blowing up the world. If you don't find explosions entertaining, there's something wrong with you. I've had these pranks done on me before and you don't see me getting all booty-bothered. Me and my friends have griefed my own world several times, and it is fun, get over it.
Griefing is all well and fun when you've saved the game, but it's a pain if you havn't. I agree, obviously it's great to have fun with your friends and all, but griefing is annoying.
True dat. My friends always tell me to save before they do something shifty, so it's no big deal. Except when they do something like block the entrance to my house with obsidian. (bastards!!!) I hardly ever play with people on my world when I don't know them, and when I do I don't save. But in case something goes horribly wrong, I have 2 backup saves. One on my flash drive, and one on my computer just in case my flash drive craps out on me.
However, griefing your friends isn't the same as griefing strangers.
When you "grief" your friends and they save before you do it and all that, it's not really griefing, because you're actually making your friends's minecraft experiences more enjoyable, not less. Maybe in some cases its less, but it's still all in good fun!
Griefing strangers is ruining their experience. Unless you tell them to save first, they're gonna have a bad time.
Ruining the work someone spent a long time on isn't fun for the person who spent all that time building.
It's unnecessary and cruel, and nobody should do it.
All that I know is that if my "friend" was to crash my game, I would most likely (9/10) ban said player from my server, and my friends list. That minority of a chance (1/10) would ONLY be due to the possible chance that the "friend" had told me to save prior to the crash.
Maybe I speak for myself, but I save every hour-and-a-half on average, or when I remember or reach lava. I do not use auto save. If said "friend" was to crash my world, that "friend" would be destroying a potential hour+ of work. This is just as bad of griefing as anything of the sort.
I parenthesize the word "friend" because one of MY friends wouldnt **** another friend over like this and risk so much over some lulz

Somebody sounds booty bothered.
If you take this game that seriously, you have a problem. Sure, I'd be mad if it was after a couple hours, but if they didn't tell you to save beforehand they probably weren't really your friend.

That is exactly what im getting at, the latter part. Im not one who likes to waste his time. As it is, im wasting enough time playing Minecraft. I'd be damned if I have to make up for "lost" time on this game, as well. It's not that im "butthurt", but that i have zero. patience. over a matter of something that has no mutual gain.
I would've been laughing at this prank 5 or 6 years ago, but now...eh, no. It's a real pain in the ass to me (no pun intended from my butt-hurtness )
I think YOU have a problem ****ing your friends over if you think its OK to crash their game.

"Oh no! I have to stop playing video games for 2 minutes so I can restart my Xbox, the world is coming to an end!" Big deal, my Xbox is crashing at the same time as the host's.
Sorry, but I just don't see whats so funny about this prank. Its inconvenient, and to be honest its not even all that funny IMO. Maybe im just not a funny person

Did I say once that the world is coming to an end over having to restart your Xbox? No. Do you have any understanding what my Xbox DOES when it restarts? No.
My Xbox is over 6 years old. It takes 10 minutes to fully boot up before I can launch a game without it crashing from the get-go. First off, I would already be irritated over losing that hour+ of time spent. Now, I have to wait at least ten minutes (sometimes longer) so that my Xbox can restart. I know im ranting about my broken game, but shining a little light on the matter....wouldn't you be pissed off, too?
Well I would in that case, but I'm not going to lurk for an hour just to deliberately be a **** and undo somebody's work. I would just come up with a reason for them to save that sounds legitimate, like wanting to show them a redstone mechanism I just learned. Then I'd tell them to save so they didn't have to tear it down after wards, they save, then BOOM! Trollage.
On a sidenote, you should probably buy a new console.

Im too cheap. lol. But seriously, the only issues my Xbox has are burning music CDs, playing live-streamed videos, and that annoying ten minute boot-up. They're all easily tolerable, so long as nobody crashes my game. I will admit that there really is no major fault at doing this trick, so long as the game is saved like how you said....but only in my instance would it really suck.
Either case, I just don't see it being so funny. Thats my own opinion, though. Yes, im very butthurt from the mass of griefers who've tried everything and anything to put a damper to my map. Ive just lost all patience, at this point. Ive been griefed in Fortresscraft, Castleminer, Total Miner, and now Minecraft. Random people seem out to get me, and the only thing left to do is squint my eyes and hate the world >: (

That's understandable, I don't have much of a problem with griefers. I only play with a select group of maybe 10 people that I know pretty well. I still find the jokes we play on each other to be amusing though. Sometimes they go a little too far, but nothing like destroying a 20 hour project or anything extremely destructive like that.
Easier method, go to edge of world, put piston two blocks from edge, place another block on piston, activate piston to push block outside of world, freeze host game. Just saved you 79 pistons and 2.4 miles of redstone
