This started recently when i play on my world and save and quit then i go back to my same world my inventory is gone except for a map as if i started the game over everything else is saved except my inventory idk what caused this to happen assuming its a bug
welcome to the most annoying world-killing bug in the game. 4J says they're working with a group that is experiencing this bug but they haven't figured it out yet.
I've had two friends lose their worlds to this bug, because they used a spawn prison as an anti-griefing measure and once the bug occurs it also resets the spawn location back to the original spawn even if you've slept in a bed. If the spawn prison is good, it is inescapable without someone on the outside to help get out. It appears that once the bug happens to any player, it happens to all players that have ever visited that world.
Even backups of the map continue to experience this bug, so once it occurs, the world is essentially "dead" after that. A backup may be playable for a while, but soon enough the bug occurs again.
We are all hoping 4J can identify and solve this fatal issue.
The only workaround s to store your inventory before you leave the game.

In my experience, doesn't happen to every player in the world. Just my experience though.
