I'm not entirely sure what you mean by villages. If you are referring to NPC Villages, they were not added until the 1.8 update.

whens that update and any new seeds??

There's no exact date for the release of the 1.8 update. As for the seed, I didn't catch your point. You want a seed where you can build a Village? If that's the case, you should give a try for turnofthetides. It has a very large flat area in the center of the map, and mountains in the north and south. A lake in the west and snow in the south.
Men, I just love that seed.

just a cool seed in general

Well, then there's a seed thread here in the forums. It's actually sticky, right up when you open the main page. There a lots of cool seeds in there.
I would usually write "Use the search tool next time", or something along those lines, but I've come to accept that some people are just too lazy. Meh.

Two cool seeds that work with both 1.25 and 1.3.1 are:

Chris (C must be capital) - cool flat default biome map where you start on an excellent river curve for a tower or fortress and a HUGE undercut mountain for large fortress building later is within sight. Across the river is miles of flat terrain to build a village with mods like mine colony or other fun building. The mountains are nearby and make an excellent back drop.

heather (all lowercase) - cool large biomes map where you start in a huge decently flat area with an npc village in sight on far view! You must have "large biomes" selected or its just a forrest at start.

That seems to be the case more and more now w/the PC players on the xbox section instead of PC section.
