How do I get mobs to stop spawning in my house? It's incredibly frustrating now. They are somehow able to spawn there during the daytime. My house is very light; I have torches everywhere. There are no holes or entrances besides the double doors in the front, which remain closed at all times except when I pass through them. I always make sure to close them behind me. They used to spawn when I tried to sleep, but I developed a temporary fix that ruined my bedroom because I have to sleep in a box now.
I've tried everything I can possibly think of. I'm beginning to think it's a glitch. Does anyone have any suggestions to get these things to stop spawning in my house? Is this a known glitch?
Is your floor of dirt or stone? because they usually spawn on it
Mobs can spawn on ANY non-transparent surface that's dark enough.
What i've noticed about this game is that mobs spawn in packs. and what I've noticed about these packs spawning is that there's a glitch where one mob in a pack can spawn in the light if the rest of the pack's spawn zone is in a sufficiently dark area. So if your house is over/near a cave or an overhang or something like that, near a place where mobs can spawn outside, there's a chance they can still spawn inside your house.
However, mobs will still follw the rule about not spawning on blocks, so you can try making your floor out of half slabs/glass/stairs, or try moving your house out of the area.
I can guarantee you half-slabs will do the trick. I have a mushroom farm made of half-slabs and low glass ceilings on my world, it's completely dark and mobs never spawn in there.

I do have a mine next to my house, but no overhangs or other caves. If I fill it in with dirt or something, would they still be able to spawn? I think there's a rule where they can't spawn in solid blocks, so if I fill it all up would that eliminate the chance of that one mob spawning in my house since the rest can't spawn in the mine area?
Most of the mine area is lit, but there might be a spot in there dark enough for mobs to spawn in. Alternatively, could I just fill the mine with torches so there are no dark caves near my house?

Oh yeah, that's the third option i forgot to mention. Yeah, you could always go on a digging expidition and light up all caves you find.

Alright, thanks!
I'll try putting torches in every possible spot of my house and my mine. If that doesn't work I'll try filling in the mine. I can't move this house because I've spent so much time on in and it's in a type of area that I really like that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in my world.

I know that feeling bro, like I said, move to half slabs if the cave-lighting doesn't work out for you.
This is common, I had this problem in my old world, and many of my friends have this problem. Like some people said in the posts above, its a bug problem and it should be fixed in the next couple of weeks.

Retired StaffThere are no dark spots, but I will double check. Thanks. I'll put torches on ever block if I have to.
That would be great! I can't wait for this!
My floor is wood with some wool as rugs or carpets or whatever, my walls are brick, and my roof/ceiling is cobblestone stairs.

Yeah I'll try that as a last resort. I'm not sure exactly what that would do to my house lol.
Thanks though. I have quite a few options now.
