I found a picture of a house on google. Looking for inspiration. I typed in midevil houses in minecraft, and this came up. So I recreated it and I don't think it looks too bad with the normal Textures.

I actually made something that looks a lot like that. But it's a blacksmith in my case lol

Interesting. But it seems like only buildings that have either a midevil feel or a mansion feel looks good. Idk I just need a good example of a house that implemented block variety well with a typical house look.
I don't think the default textures are ugly at all. Sure, there are texture packs on the PC that are nicer than the default, but that doesn't make the default bad.

I just can't wait for the extra Wooden Planks.
That will definitely help with the transition between textures, but for now I stay true to my point.
I have been trying to discover why I cannot be satisfied with all my builds. Today I discovered what this was. The default texture pack is terrible. When i build a house out of only wooden planks, it looks terrible, If I add different blocks for variation, it looks terrible. This is from a very biased opinion, because I am a perfectionist. If I switch to a texture pack like dokucraft on pc, a wooden house looks amazing. So how do you guys make your builds look good with this default texture pack. I would love some advise. NOTE: I have read multiple threads on how to make things look better, but everything always ends up looking similar to everything else or just plain.
Here is a picture without a texture pack:
Here is a picture with a texture pack (dokucraft):
As you can see, the colors blend together much better with a texture pack and the transitions from different blocks flow. I don't know how you can make anything look better then a texture pack, but I would love to see it.
I am stating my opinion. It might be a little whinny, but I truthfully believe this texture pack makes the buildings have less flow. I am trying to get help as how other members compensate for that.

I think you pushed out the brick too far. But that is my opinion.

Thank you, I have included both pictures in the main post for comparison.
If you could get a picture of this with dokucraft I will. I like have near identical photos for comparison.
