I had a freaking awesome super massive epic world. It was a massive house sprawling through the mountains. I had a 10 by 10 by 64 light house which doubled as a mob spawner. I was starting on a massive snow mansion. I also had 35 diamonds and a huge animal spawner. And then I was going to play it... and clicked delete on accident. I had never felt that stupid ever. I had sunk 3 whole months into that world.
I did the same exact thing. That moment when you want to throw your controller at the tv. Take same tnt and surround your xbox with it and use redstone to detonate it. Then take whatever is left of your gaing setup and roll over it with a bulldozer. Yeeeeeeah

Ouch... I felt that all the way over here!
A three step or even two step process to delete a world would be awesome!
Another thought. Every 100 hours of game time spam the user with a message. "BACKUP this world!" Or even throw it up as one of the "sayings" that appear in the title screen. "Backup or Die!"
As a rule, I generally backup before I let anyone into my world. Then if they greif, no biggie. As a result, I almost always have a weekly backup laying around.

I think it should be every 5 hours or something...I don't think I've played 100 total ever since I got it the day it came out. Good thought, though.
Every day, go to SETTINGS, CONSOLE, STORAGE on your Xbox
If your saved game is in the "Cloud", then select cloud memory, find Minecraft, find your saved game file, select it, select COPY, and finally, select your hard drive.
If your saved game is on the Hard Drive, then select hard drive memory, find Minecraft, find your saved game file, select COPY and select "Cloud" to copy it over to there.
Word to the wise. I always play my game from CLOUD. And then I can copy a backup to HARD DRIVE. If you do it reversed and play on hard drive and backup to cloud, you will end up waiting a LONG time in the copy screen. Copying cloud to hard drive is QUICK. Copying hard drive to cloud is SLOW.
But either way works,
I also have a third backup - a little flash memory "stick" that plugs in to the xbox.
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY BACKUPS.
Yeah it's a pain in the neck to do this every day. Yeah, 4J and Mojang should have given us FAR BETTER backup methods.
But just do it. Or risk losing your world like this poor OP.

Curse PremiumI swear, I miss communities that are, at least, polite.
Hate to hear you lost all your work man... There should be a 3-step process for deleting a world, to help avoid accidents...
