Minecraft is amazing in all of its forms, including PC, xbox, and pocket edition. I love how they finally have it on 360, only because i'm a big console gamer and not the best with computer controls and movements. So everybody is saying that minecraft will be updated to an even higher extent than that of the PC. While this is fantastic news, i'm not so sure that it will actually be this way.
Nobody considers the fact that the next xbox is right around the cornor.
Will they have minecraft on this new xbox? well thats a no brainer, considering the fact that minecraft bought the rights to microsoft (i'm not 100% sure this was the way it happened, Microsoft may have bought the rights to minecraft, i'm not entirely sure). But will we have to re- purchase the game? Will Minecraft be updated to the extent of the PC on the new xbox? Am I in the right goddamn section to post this?
Hopefully Microsoft knows what they're doing. I don't want to lose my minecraft for xbox.
We are at least 2 years away from a new console war........ E3 would have had some info..... Maybe next year an announcement will be made. I wouldn't worry to much.... ( were just now getting a web browser) Just have fun an be glad you have an Xbox not a PS3
I believe the estimated amount of time for us to catch up to the PC is about 1 or 2 years. Boom! yeah, we finally got updated to the extent of the PC! WOO!!!! and then BAM! new xbox. then everybody is just like :I
yeah i doubt they'd make all you're content licenses disappear... as long as you don't switch over to a new xbl account i think we're safe.
2 years? lol no, 1 year MAX(by next june). it takes way longer for the PC version to update due to Mojang actually having to come up with new content to add/bug test where 4J doesn't need to come up with new content and only has to deal with bugs related to adapting minecraft for the xbox. i honestly expect we'll be at 1.3 by March or May....unless they decide to focus on other things like xbox exclusive content.
I understand your concern. With all of the rumors floating around, it seems that we'll be seeing the next Xbox in late 2013/early 2014. With any luck, getting the game on your new system won't be difficult. You certainly wouldn't have to pay for it again (at least, not logically), so I don't think you have to worry about anything. As long as we can keep our current Xbox LIVE accounts, all should go well.

Anyone who gets this will, literally there is no point in buying a new console if we have to purchase our game again, will waste their money.

The thing is Mc XBLA is going to go there own path at 1.2.3 so there will not be any more updates from the pc after 1.2.3

yeah...there's no point..unless you plan on buying games that come out after the new console's release.
I would be 99.99% sure that when the Xbox 720 (or whatever its name will be) is released it will be backwards-compatible with Xbox 360 games & content, and it would simply be a matter of signing into your profile on the new console and downloading the game again and transferring any save games over via USB or cloud storage etc :).
I cant imagine them not making that possible...

Umm What??? and OK, Nobody will ever buy a next gen console. Nintendo already proved that...........You guys realize this is a debate on something that doesn't exist right........ besides my xbox rocks!!!!! not the 360 but the XBOX!!!!! (it still works )
If you, and everyone else, has to buy their 360 Arcade games again to be able to play them on the 720 then Microsoft is going to have a lot of pissed off gamers on their hands. Myself included.
In my humble opinion it would be a helluva lot smarter than charging them again so I highly dought they'll recharge us. ^^
And because the capabilities will be improved I can only think of positives <3
But if they decide to charge us again for all our arcade games you can bet I wont be buying the 720 until it's like 200 bucks lol
You will be able to use Minrecraft on your next gen Xbox if you get one. When you buy an Arcade game, you're not actually purchasing the software, you're just purchasing a license to download and use it. If you get a new Xbox, recover your account on it, and then go to games you've already downloaded on your account before, you'll see that you have permission to download it again for free (provided you're not switching Xboxes so much that MS gets suspicious and bans you). Now, seeing as the current LIVE network is still being integrated into Windows Phones and Windows 8, it's safe to say that we'll still have the same LIVE network on the next gen Xbox. Therefore, your license will still be valid all the same.

....that'd be awesome.. game devs would be able to make higher quality games with the next generation of consoles.
