I'm working on a floating bio-ring over a desert biome and decided that I would lava cast an obsidian walkway to give it a bit of contrast and make if look spiffy. The thing is 107 blocks in the air and a walk to my underground storage and work area. (Not to mention lava pits.) I put in a rail to make the betweens faster and was, all, "Hey, I'm alllll over this!" I'm carting up 20+ buckets of lava with my bucket of water and think I'm making great progress. I go through the first batch of lava and start to head down back to the base when my mine cart just freezes on the tracks. This is puzzling as I'd tested it out and all was well. I jump out of the cart and in the process empty my stinking water bucket on my railway stairs, wiping out the rails all the way to the bottom and the tracks leading away from them too. Okay, take a deep breath and start gathering things up again only to find that there aren't any torches now. Then I wonder if maybe I'd spilled water over the side and taken them out long before I'd ever started my decent.
30 minutes later and it's all fixed. Off I go for lava! Many buckets later I'm sitting in the mine cart and, for whatever freaking reason, dump lava on my mine cart, myself and the button that sends us on our way. I die....of course....and respawn on the other side of the map. "SON OF A B****" is the only thought I muster before sighing and briefly contemplating just reverting the last save. Deciding not to, I jump through the Netherportal and take the shortcut between locations, pick my stuff up and take a note of what was destroyed. Nothing that couldn't be replaced so I picked things up and went back to work. (I'd had enough foresight to put most of my inventory into a chest so I could haul more buckets.) At this point I'm thinking of quitting and coming back to it when it doesn't look like I'm playing drunk. I fix the rail stop, save the game and head up to the ring. At this point I decide that I'm going to be really cautious about those full buckets the next time I have to use the rail. I finish up a portion of the floor, head to cart, forget to toggle the water bucket off and dump the damn thing on the rail system-again! It flushes the whole damn thing apart and spreads it all over the desert. I'm not fuming but I am just annoyed as hell that I did that to myself. This time I did restart and made an attempt to finish the floor. A couple of more "accidents" later I just shut the game off and decided that pizza makes everything better.
Maybe it isn't griefing as we've come to know it here but I had to wonder how many other Minecrafters have found themselves in similar situations.
I am a Minecraft tourist. I am currently unavailable under the XBoxLIVE ID listed here but can be found under ZombieL0C0. If you see me online playing Minecraft, send a message and I will gladly take a stroll through your world.
I was building an underwater rail tunnel, out of all glass of course. The end was "open" and kept sucking in squid. The first several times I freaked out and ended up braking glass and flooding the whole thing.

Fantastic transition phrase right there.
Not unlike how you were born.
Joking.
I have definitely found myself in situations like that, though. Agreed.
I now take them out of my hot bar til I'm ready to place them.
Just about destroyed my house.
End of story
