Is there any way to have lighting under water? Do I have to use Glow stone? if so can someone join my game and help me find diamond so i can mine Obs to go to THE NETHER!
You don't need to find diamond to get obsidian, just use cobblestone water and lava. Use the cobble stone to make a mold layer by layer and put the water and lava in it. doesn't water which one first.

in my world there is a glitch where if i place a torch underwater after it is immediately destroyed the light still remains on the surrounding blocks.
Same here. It's a known bug introduced with the new lighting system, and 4J said they're looking into it it (along with a few other lighting bugs) in the official MC360 bug thread.
