They already say that they going to get the Xbox360 version up to 1.2.3 by the end of the year, so it's really not one year away that we going to be behind. Anyways on topic I'm looking forward to adventure mode makes the game more fun.
Do you happen to have a link for that? They have said 1.2.3 will be after 1.8.2, but I haven't heard anything about them saying it will be out by the end of the year. Though I do think it will be.

People (including myself) have estimated we'll be at 1.2.3 by the holidays but no official 4J word as far as I know. If you can link me then so be it it's still good news ^^
On that note, the PC version was roughly were we are right now 1 year ago (give or take) so we are a year behind the PC version. To be specific 1.7.2 released July 8, 2011 (according to the wiki) and 1.8.1 released September 15, 2011.
This might be off topic but I will hate it when I have the temptation to abandon my old world with all my cool structures to get all the latest features of this update.
I know I saw it somewhere bah, but I speculating it should be around the holidays like you say, I don't think it should take them more than 3 months to jump from 1.8.2 to 1.2.3, although it is a lot of content but I think they could pull it through by holidays or early january of 2013

And dont forget they'll then have to jump to 1.3 and possibly 1.4 to fully catch up to the PC version

And in the meantime, 1.5, 1.6, etc. will come out for the PC. So, regardless of how many patches and updates MC360 gets, there will always be new stuff in the PC version we Xbox gamers will long for.
Anyway, I already know exactly what I'm going to do when the next update comes: be overwhelmed and resort to what I always do - mining obsidian for hour after hour after hour.

This is not entirely true, thankfully. PC development seems to have slowed down quite a bit. Some of the updates that ARE coming out are packed with features that are only relevant to Minecraft on the PC. Take the upcoming Mod API for example. That's going to take quite awhile to work on, but it's not something that we'll ever need to worry about. 4J will have a chance to catch up.

4J will never catch up. They're too far behind (not blaming them), and new stuff not specific to the PC is going to be added to the PC version all the time. Still, being only one major update behind is something I can live with.

well put Xavier, that is my though exactly, I'm guessing in the near future the Xbox version will be on par with the pc version, but all we can do its just wait either ways the Xbox version it's going to be getting more fun by every update.
I would start a new world an enjoy the update. The PC version of the game seems years ahead of the Xbox 360 version though.
Thats because they had to completely re-code it in a different programing language. On the PC, it is coded in Java, however, on Xbox it must be coded in either C# or C++, I can't remember at the moment, but either way, completely different coding language, thus, LONG time to re-code.
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

This is also COMPLETELY off topic but your name is Xbox_User and your post count is 360. Just thought it was cool.
On topic, I will be having lots of adventures, and enjoying the crap out of creative mode.

I highly doubt it but it would be cool if it was like the pc when it gets updated. Cause i haven't discovered all of my world. So im wondering if the un generated chunks will have the new features. I don't know if this would happen though. But if he did that would be awesome!
But if that was the case i would bring some villagers to the village i put together. If not then i will just make a new world and start over.
