I found a nice seed today, it has a balanced terrain, some good flat building lands, and a bit of everything you need.
This is the seed:
embiggen
Kudos if you get the reference, the PC enchantment table makes the same reference, which is where I got it from.
This is the spawn area:
The area is an intersection between desert, jungle, and plains biomes. Right off the bat, you have plenty of wood, plenty of sand, and plenty of flat open building space. you also have plenty of coal, which is exposed in a nice large vein in a stone basin right inside the jungle. You're nearby when you see the tree with red mushrooms growing on top of it.
It's hard to adequately describe how many open coal deposits I found exploring this map. There's also a promising looking cave entrance nearby, (I didn't do any cave exploring on this run) so you have the resources to get torches and a stone pickaxe and be mining within minutes.
Here's a spot in the jungle that tickled my fancy a bit. There's a bit of flat area with a hill going up one direction and a shear cliff on the other side. I'd probably end up building a small village down in the flat, with some hilltop mansions, and some suites built into the mountain side. Maybe a nice fishing pier in that lake there.
This one I included for kicks. A naturally occuring 6-block tall cactus. x,z 249, 177, IIRC.
Here's a larger and more open flat area to the north, bordered by jungles to the east and shear cliffs to the west.
As well as a vertical drop cave entrance that looks like it might go pretty deep pretty fast along the northern shore.
There's barely any snowy areas, so if you like building in snow, this probably isn't the seed for you. If you don't like snowy areas, you'll be happy to know that the only snow on this map occurs in patches along the westernmost part of the map. There's also a few areas of spruce trees for those who like building with dark wood, so you can bring saplings back and start a nice farm.
Yes, there are pumpkins. I found 10 while combing the map, and I wasn't searching for them specifically.
Some other things about the seed that aren't pictured:
Clay is plentiful, but you have to trek a good distance from the spawn point to find it.
The eastern part of the map is largely ocean with some nice islands dotting it.
Sugar cane is plentiful, especially on those islands in the ocean.
Lots of cliffs to the south.
To finish off, here's a little teaser of the map. Sorry for the quality, I guess you can't include maps in a screenshot so I took this with my phone.
Give it a shot, its a really nice seed, I'm probably going to start a multiplayer server on it sometime.
Mmm, this looks like one sexy seed. I wish I had known about this sooner...all the TNT I used and hills I landscaped just to make enough space for a hotel. Kudos for finding a jewel!
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

you'll get tired of your current world eventualy ;P
The nice thing about new maps is the new ideas that come with them, especially if you like to form your builds around your landscape and not vice versa.

Oh, I totally agree - I had to learn that the hard way. Who builds a whole entire village at the corner of the map? I do. -__-
But from what your see looks like, it has that flat landscape but still contains hills here and there for elevated surfaces (everything flat is rather boring anyways). Do you know if there are any large mountains w/ waterfalls like other seeds? Just one huge stone mountain will make my day 20x better.

Let me give the world another run. There are cliffs along the south but I only did a quick combover of the map, liked what I saw, and went back to start taking screenies.
EDIT: didn't find any big waterfalls. Nice mountains though. And so much coal. I've never seen so much exposed surface coal on a seed before.

Tht's a pretty spiffy seed as well o: No dramatic things like that on this seed, just some nice hills and cliffs.
