I've been using the two slime chunk finder tools and I still don't understand how I'm supposed to interpret the coordinates. How am I to dig which coords? I got lucky with one slime farm because a chunk ended up being in my mine. Since then I've made a couple of farms but they were fruitless. Any help you guys can offer would be amazing. Thanks.
The slime finder/extension tools only show the x & z coordinates of constant slime spawns. When you pop in the seed of your map, the extension shows you the location of the chunks which are 16x16. The x and z coordinates tell you how far you should mine and what dimensions they are. Think of a square, where "x" can be the width and "z" is the height for the slime chunks. If the coordinate says the chunk goes from 32,64 to 48,80, that means start on the x-coordinate 32 and stop when you reach 48. Vice versa for the z coordinate. My suggestion is to start at one coordinate, dig all the way down past Layer 16, then expand afterwards. Go for the two chunks or more to increase slime spawns.
Digging down below Layer 19 is where you'll find your slimes. Most players typically dig to bedrock, just because it's easier and you can never go wrong there. Light up the are massively, with torches on the walls and glowstone in the ceiling (and even some inside the floor). You can make it 3 blocks or higher. Stay within 24 block of the farm to prevent despawing (though it is possible to find slimes if you do end up being away from the farm).

i was trying so hard to explain this, but i ended up confusing myself
Just to add, the green squares that represent slime chunks didn't show when I was using internet explorer, I don't know if that is how it is for everyone, but it worked perfectly with firefox.

A chunk is 16x16, you can use various tools to find out where your slime chunks would be http://extension.ws/...aft/slimes.html is one of those sites with a tool.
Note to everyone. People cannot get the above website to work with IE, please use Firefox or Chrome (there may be other browsers that work but these two are confirmed so far)
So there has been alot of people getting confused about the slime finder tool and the coordinates thing
so I'll try to sum it up in the next picture.
1: Here is where we enter our seed.
2: Then we click this Update Map and it will show slime chunks on the grid ( 5 )
3: We can center the map on specific coordinates by entering them in these 2 boxes ( x and z ) This is so we can search around a specific area.
4: We then click Go there so our grid gets updated to those specific coordinates.
5: This is our generated grid from our seed.
6:The green squares represent slime chunks and if you mouse over them it will display the chunks border with coordinates.
7:Our coordinates of the chunk border displaying in this pic -16,-112 to 0,-96
This part confuses alot of people.
You could say looking at the grid, top being north that -16 is the top left of the chunk, -112 is the bottom left, 0 is the top right and -96 is the bottom right. Our border is made up of these 4 coordinate numbers. -16 being 'X' -112 being 'Z'.
You would travel to -16 'X' and dig out the perimeter of your slime chunk dont forget under layer 16
(-16 x dig until you hit 0 x, then to Z -96 and back to Z -112) after you perimeter is dug out you then want to dig out everything inside that border.
I've done a prob 4-5 slim farms including my own and they all seem to work just fine. I went to bedrock and then started my floor 4 blocks up from bedrock. I did the ceiling 3 blocks high, and the room is 55+. I've heard they should be at least 50x50 so I've done them a few blocks bigger to be on the safe side. I also have built these in the very middle of the map. Just happened to be where I tried the first time on my world cause that's where my town was started. So all the following slime farms I've done for friends has followed this pattern and they all work

There is no reason to dig out more than a slime chunks borders, you wont increase slime spawns this way. Just saying so you dont have to waste time digging so much more than needed. A chunk being 16x16 if you dug out 17x17 that 1 block more cleared out area will not spawn slimes on it because it isnt a slime chunk so no real point really.
