Except for the part where Notch and 4J want the Xbox to do its own thing and have its own unique identity seperate from the PC version. http://xboxlivearcad...-being-updated/
It would be difficult to be more wrong than you are about Minecraft's future concerning mods.
The problem with DLC thats not skins or texture packs is, say we get the Technic pack, I get the pack, my friend doesn't. So I create like 10,000 contraptions with it, and he comes to my world. His xbox won't know what it is, even if it did, what if he picked one up...? He got the technic pack and he didn't even pay. There is no way I will ever play minecraft again if they make it so you can't play with people who don't have a certain dlc and you do.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

My guess is they would do something to where you need to start a new world and pick what DLC you want to use on it. If your friend doesn't have the DLC, then they can't join the world.

They'll probably have it set up so that you can load a pack from a friend without having to have it yourself. Kinda like how you can splitscreen online multiplaer with a buddy on their Xbox without having to have your own Gold account.
It could go either way though. There are games where all people have to have the same DLC to play on DLC content. Like Halo 3, some playlists were DLC map pack exclusive and you had to have the pack yourself to participate.
I doubt you'd really give up minecraft over that though
I probably would because my friend can't get DLC thats more than $8... And we play on a creative world together, and If I get a dlc then my best friend won't be able to play with me on our favorite world.

Well you don't NEED to get the dlc.
All this talk of dcl got me thinkin, "how much prossesing power does an xbox have?" The other day I finished a large scale redstone contraption and when i took it for a test drive, I got EXTREME frame rate drop and some of the machine didn't work proporly. I wonder how much extra stuff the xbox can handle.
EDIT: I just did the math, I had 144 sticky pistons moving 48 glowstone blocks into 12 dark rooms, all at once. Maybe that's why it lagged so hard

True but there is a way around it , just like the skins.
Yes, because there has never been a sandbox game with a story...they already stated that, "this isn't going to be Minecraft for the Xbox, it's Minecraft: Xbox360 Edition," so they can put in whatever the hell they feel like...This being on a console, I believe it be perfect to put in a story that is exclusive to this version

Wanna know why Minecraft has over 10 Million Hits , Its because its a sandbox game and sandbox games HAVE NO STORY!! that is all thank you.
everything should be free but the game, if you have to pay for a skin, texturepack, or mod, all you are doing is screwing yourself of money, its really cheap way to get money
Are you high? Go make a mod, then tell me if you wouldn't feel better being compensated for it. Every mod that has come out would have a price tag on it if doing so weren't illegal. Its not the kind of thing you do one afternoon and revel in your creation. Clearly, you are seriously detached from reality if you think ANY of what you said has merit.

ya, you dont pay the modders money, they get money from adfly we dont pay them a dime for their content, its not my problem

Don't all players on PC minecraft have to have the mod to engage multiplayer servers using said mod? I was pretty sure this was the case. A lot of mods change pretty important game files...like the number of available block ID's. A vanilla user couldn't play with a technic user without having that information loaded into his version of the game too. If anything the xbox version will be MORE likely to have cross functionality since all of its content is being designed into the core game. User made content on the PC is not, its changing the core game.
I believe that you misunderstand the meaning of a sandbox game....A sandbox game means it's an open world where you can go anywhere and do anything you want....it has nothing to do with a story...GTA and Saint's Row are both sandbox games and they both have stories...So I think you ought to get your facts straight before you try to shoot people down with misinformation

And for 4J to do the same thing, you would have to have ad revenue to cover the expense just as they do. Which, of course, means ads in the game. Not exactly a sound move, I'd say. Seems like just paying someone for extra content, especially at a fair price, is a reasonable way to go. But, do feel free to continue on with the horrible injustice behind the idea of someone getting paid to provide a service. The rest of the world is totally with you.

GTA and Saint's Row are not sandbox games. They are RPGs... Your saying Assassins creed is a sandbox game...?

They are most definitely sandbox games. Including assassin's creed. They may have a main story, but you can explore the city and do sidequests at your own pace.
An open world is a type of video gamelevel design where a player can roam freely through a virtual world and is given considerable freedom in choosing how or when to approach objectives.[1] The term "free roam" is also used, as is "sandbox" and "free-roaming".
The first line is all you really need.

And to the guy having trouble with redstone. A large amount of pistons extending/retracting at once will probably always cause a drop in FPS. This happens to most people playing PC version too. As for parts not working, that's just because redstone is extremely buggy.
