I prefer the Xbox 360 edition, because it's easier to craft things, and the simplicity of it is just really fun. I like the PC version, but I like the Xbox 360 edition better.
pc has crafting table 3 which has a even easier use than the xbox crafting
Without mods, you can't exit without saving on PC but you can on Xbox. Blazes drop glow stone, servers are easy to get into, less hackers, we will be able to reset the nether, and I thought there was one more one.
Judging by this... both the PC and Xbox version can experience lag. On the PC, there is just more the player can do to eliminate it by spending the money to upgrade their computer system. I don't personally play Minecraft of PC; and one reason why I would never consider it is that my PC lags horribly... even just downloading regular webpages and YouTube videos. Conversely, my experience on the Xbox has been very good even without being able to upgrade the system. I generally don't get much lag at all really, even though it's connected to the same internet as my PC.
on pc if your exploring and you die there is next to no chance you'll get your items back as maps are that big you won;t know whats where .
but saying that designing houses is alot better as you have more materials to work with and some mechanics are better than current xbox ((upside down stairs))..
xbox crafting is easier but playing multiplayer is alot more difficult as we have no servers just "some guys" xbox switched on 24/7 , no mods. no devs to help with server upkeep and stop griefers
so you have a hard thing to make of which is better both have good pro's and bad.,
I have both and I'm sided with PC. It's not worth it to buy an Xbox, but if you already have one then it's perfect.

-The PC Is Better For The Server's Permissions
But Most Of The People Got Lag On Minecraft PC
-Xbox Is Fun, By Playing, And All Consoles Got No Lag :3!
If your going with straight facts, PC. Xbox is funner to play (yes that's a word now) because of controls. But the one thing that makes pc 100x better is the community, maps, mods, textures, servers, and everything else the community can provide.

its not even close. Part of playing minecraft is losing your stuff occasionally, it doesnt make or break the game. PC has tecture packs, mod, and custom maps, not to mention more vanilla stuff, it is MUCH better

I agree I've spent close to 100 $ (I'm very cheap) and many hours just to get it working with a gigabyte of fsp and to make all of my mods to work..... Its a real pain. also the fact that you can make yourself comfortable easily when you have the controller in your hand rather than a keyboard...... but pc has mods, adventure maps (well atleast easier to get), If a server has alot of ram then no lag, alot of people can be in one server compared to xbox, and texture packs & costume skins...... the xbox and the pc both have their own perks.
No one can answer that but you. Each version has it's own unique features, and none has all the features. What you need to realize is that there's different versions of the Basic Game of Minecraft. Sorta like there isn't "A Car"- there's different versions of "a car", like Fords, Chevys, Fiats, etc. Whether one is "better" for you than another depends on the person.
The Xbox version is too far behind and lacks soo much that I will always say PC. The biggest problems I would say with the Xbox version are No mods , limited worlds and paying for skins and texture packs.
The console and PC versions are for different markets. Minecraft is a complicated game (it tells you something if the wiki has 3000+ pages).
* With the console(s), it is more designed for those new to the game. Tutorial, easy crafting, simple multiplayer, wiki not needed, and it runs quite well on consoles.
* PC is more for 'experienced' players. It has no tutorial, you must refer to the wiki, more complicated multiplayer, and no easy crafting. Many people have trouble running it on their computer (not everyone can just go out and buy a new computer if they need to).
The point is they're 2 different versions, for 2 different target audiences, and each has their own pros and cons, so it's a 'apples and oranges' kinda thing. The PC vs Console "war" seems to go on forever- because there can never be a clear cut winner. Trying to compare the two is just as futile as trying to compare the consoles to PE (which is another market- the younger mobile market).
4. Better redstone (Both for maps and survival/creative machines)
5. More blocks
6. More mobs
Xbox:
1. Easier multiplayer w/o lan or on a big server
2. Saves don't corrupt or glitch as easily as a bad pc
3. (kind of a pro and con) you have a certain sized map so you could fill the map and people know exactly how big you are talking about. For example, I mined the whole map out at Y:12 and Y:13 people will know how big you mean.
I might have missed some not saying I know everything ^
Thank you, you have some things I forgot. Although from personal experience the frame rate issue on Xbox while playing Split screen Minecraft isn't as bad as a lot of my friends pc's running singleplayer Minecraft.

In Xbox though, online is simpler and easier, never played the PC but I'm assuming the controls are better on Xbox?

aft on PC but I have on xbox should I get it on PC
Hopefully by now you realize you dug up a 2 year old thread from obscurity.
The differences are here in the wiki: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Console_Edition
