Alright, so my question is about using seeds really. I have a world I've played alot since the beginning and I wanted to see what it originally looked like. So i took the seed of that world and then went to start a new world and used that seed. I'm fairly certain I copied the seed right, as I tried twice, but it didn't work either time. So, is it possible to have the same world twice? (I would assume it is). Or am I just screwing up my typing/copying skills?
*should* be the same, was it a random seed originally ? Random seeds i havent tried but i know one where word was used the corresponding number on the maps load thing doesnt actually give the same world.

You know what's funny? I did the same thing and I know for a fact that I copied my seed title right but it came out different. There were some similarities to my previous seed but it wasn't the same thing
i did the same thing and it made the same world but it made a 1.7.world not the 1.6 so the look of it was not the same.
It had the new trees and clay but it was the same world

99.99% sure it's this.
could also be that you're spawning in a different area, but it is possible to have the same seed many times over.
Were there any tweaks in the terrain generator between 1.6.6 and 1.7.3?
Yup, had a friend look at the seed I wrote down, I had an extra 3 in it. Still looked right to me after a few tries. Thanks for the help
