I've got my tweet in. I'd imagine that if they miss this in the update a fix would be release in a bug fix. Hopefully it won't come to that.
Its sad that it works like that....there are basically copying the PC game and converting it bugs and all. The bugs could be fixed in the updates you would think. Then there wouldn't be as many issues in the bug fix updates. But i guess some people just don't think like that.
Possibly some good news! with breeding added in 1.9, 4J Stu confirmed they are bringing some stuff from 1.9 into the 1.8.2 update
I don't mean to bring people's hopes up , but I really hope its the breeding feature they are adding
I'm not sure how accurate this is; the wiki states no such bug under the version history and passive mobs are part of the spawn cycle. It's possible that persistent mobs will make the cap reached easier and therefore, killing your pigs might not open up any enough for a 'pack' of pigs to spawn.
Oh sorry I though I replied to your post. I put it on the main post as new news. Hopefully that guys is speaking the truth and we can get breeding ahead of time.
Im certain it is, i mean what feature are they going to add from 1.9, brewing? enchanting? im pretty sure those are more complex than breeding
My thoughts exactly. The most complex thing about it is probably the babies, but they don't need to add those yet. We could just have the babies go straight to adults to speed up the update. I am assuming the coding for animals following wheat isn't too long. Same with the actually click and breed. Maybe I should put the idea of full animals instead of babies to the main post?
Enchanting would be awesome, means XP is needed, and makes sense to have those two in the same update. Breeding would be welcomed too.
The problem with that is enchanting requires a lot of coding and would push back the update a significant amount of time. Based on what I know, breeding is not that complex of an idea and doesn't require much coding. I would love it in the next update as well, but one problem at a time.
Exactly, breeding is less complex and if they added babies it wouldnt be that bad.
Idk, but my hopes are up right now. as they stated, they could add only a few features from 1.9

To be honest, the code for enchanting is probably easier than the code for breeding. Not to mention having to implement to new AI for following with wheat and for the babies, and new character models for them. Enchanting really just requires changing values.

Should I start a poll sking whether or not people think breeding is a necessity in 1.8? Maybe that would get 4J Steves attention.
I'd be fine with either Enchanting or Breeding, I just think without breeding in the 1.8 update it will be the main issue and will cause many people to complain and make redundant threads in the forums

Off topic but the only way to have large worlds is to take off splitscreen.
So... someone make a topic on that.
This has been discussed in many other threads. 4J is aware of this problem and looking for solutions without getting rid of such a significant feature. If they got rid of it, people will want refunds and Microsoft will not allow this.

No one has mentioned this yet, so I would love an official website to confirm this, not a forum.
