Normally, man, I like ya and think you're swell. But this is not a small issue. See, its nice that WE, the forum community here, understand this issue might exist and could stop killing. But if animals DO NOT SPAWN more than the initial time the world is generated....this is a great problem for everyone else. See, they do not know about this. 1.8 will come and they will play as they always have. And their worlds will be devoid of animals. As in, that entire save just became dead to them simply because someone lacked the foresight to correct an issue that was obviously present. You absolutely cannot say that this isn't game breaking, because it is for all of the people who DON'T follow the forums. That is to say, virtually everyone who owns the game. We encompass such a small percentile of the actual playerbase that we might as well not even exist, for the purposes of scale.
This is not a whiny complaint being made by doomsayers. This is the caliber of thing that could probably turn a large chunk of the playerbase away. We've brought entirely new players into this game, and its on their backs that the burden of keeping its interest, and therefore its forward momentum in regard to updates and new material, alive. For once, perhaps, its a good ideal to support this particular movement to get some changes brought forward. Or, in the very least, get some changes left for later. They COULD leave the respawn dealy out until it can be properly implemented. They even might be doing this already, but its certainly important enough to ask about, wouldn't you say?
This is exactly what I was thinking in the back of my head, but couldn't seem to elaborate on. I appreciate you explaining why this is such and important issue. It isn't as much about the people on these forums, but rather the people who are uneducated about the possible problem. Thank you
Gotta kill pigs for chops. Unless wool is suddenly regrowing, then you also won't have what is, effectively, the single most important building material there is. Without a surplus of wool you do not have access to colored walls, floors, extra beds, paintings for decoration...ect. This particular issue goes beyond HEALTH needs by far. Removing wool from the equation basically removes me, in the very least, from even caring to turn the game on. It took nearly 100 wool just to do a small walkway from my dock to my castle. Thats 35+ sheep in the best of circumstances. Wheat takes a bit to grow as well, whereas pigs and cows turn up all day. On survival maps its also killing off the most readily available armor you can find. Early game, you do not have the iron surplus you need to waste it on armor. But you certainly need that armor to go cave diving, especially on this version. Combat on PC was easy. The hit range on the xbox is tight, and puts you a hairs breadth from their hit range on you. Nevermind the fact it takes time to even get the seeds you need, and the water, to get a sizable farm started.
It means that early game, you are boned. You HAVE to kill to eat, and in doing so you remove animals you need later.
WOW. You really understand this problem. From both a survival and builder point of few, this will hurt the game.

That is why there is a "What's New" section in the actual game. If people don't use it, that is their fault.
I still see no problem with it. Bread is probably one of the easiest obtainable foods. Also, with 1.8.2, we'll get Zombie Feet which are also food.
There are just so many ways around animals not respawning that it won't be any problem for me or anyone who knows what they're doing. Which everyone should know they're doing by now.
OK, I am convinced that this is not your problem, but it is for many other players. People like having pigs and cows and chickens to kill instead of taking their time to make a huge farm. The casual player will not enjoy such a simply fix. Truthfully, they should just keep no respawning out of this update. All I want is for people to tweet 4J Studios to find out their plans in this regard.

ONCE AGAIN, you are not thinking about the people who don't think about it this deeply. We are a small community compared to everyone else.
If they don't keep up with the news that is easily provided to them, it's their fault if they're worlds become devoid of animals.
You say there is no way for them to know because they don't come to the forums or go on twitter. However, that is the exact reason there is the "What's New" section in the in-game main menu. If they can't check it to see what has changed and learn about the animals changes, that's they're fault.

OK you wanna know the truth. I LIKE KILLING PIGS. I like burning them as to obtain cooked pork chops. I like making leather armor for the hell of it. SO you are telling me that I should be denied of this slight enjoyment I have in the game, because of a technicality? I am sure there are other players like me who don't want to be super cautious about killing animals. The point of this is many, many of use would want a way to keep the animal population in their world. Most people will check the "What's New" section, but most will not realise the problem until it has happened. Therefore potential ruining their world or a part of it.

Then it'll suck to be them.
It's just a game. New worlds can be made. This issue will eventually be gone and everyone will forget about it because it's that insignificant in the long run.

Its better to never have an issue then to have it in the first place.

None of which actually refutes the fact that its an entirely preventable issue in the first place. One that can be prevented without spending more time on the update. They can choose to simply leave all aspects of the change out until it suits the structure of the game...rather than simply repeating obvious mistakes for the sake of...hell I can't even imagine what manner of reasoning would go into such a thing. On the PC, they were working update to update. They knew what they wanted to get, and sometimes things get a little messed up along the way. On this version we have a clear blueprint of what to expect AND what to avoid. Yet it seems that, to you, we should cast that information aside simply because. Well, thats ludicrous. Absolutely the single most illogical and mind-numbingly stupid thing I've ever heard from one of the more experienced members of the community.
Whats more is that you've taken an aggressively defensive stance FOR minecraft in this....when its actually needs none. No one is saying lets burn all the witches here. The guy just wanted to make sure that their twitter feed was made aware of the potential issue. In all fairness to 4J, they've been working on porting this game since 1.6 was on PC....its entirely possible this little tidbit could have been missed by their radar. They've been choosing an update path that meets both time deadlines AND file size deadlines, and it would have been incredibly easy to not notice that, in this particular instance, a thing or two could use some rearranging. Its not that farfetched to think a little communication might be called for on the matter. Honestly, I think you've been defending the game, and its team, too long and are becoming jaded from all the nonsense that gets spread around. Yeah, we all get tired of hearing silly crap being yelled about. None of us cared that people were mad to pay for skins.
But this is not that issue. Its avoidable, its pretty detrimental, and, if nothing else, its gonna be the cause of an enormous headache for a bunch of programmers who probably could use a lot less of it. Is it honestly so terrible to think we should probably wanna dodge the bullet, just this once?

There is good news.. YOU KNOW IN ADVANCE AND CAN PLAN FOR IT. The PC players never knew about it Knowing about it means you can do something about it. Since xbox updates seem to be about 2-3 months apart, you know its temporary and a fix will come. Build pens around animals you want to keep (like sheep) to keep them safe. Make none killing animal zones for milk, make iron armour instead of leather, apart from riding the pig, turn it to pork chops, they are a nuisence. Collect eggs from chickens dont kill them until you have thrown the egg and got a new chicken (I assume they still turn into chickens like they do now)
It's just a game. New worlds can be made. This issue will eventually be gone and everyone will forget about it because it's that insignificant in the long run.
You're such a ****. Also, "It's just a game." Obviously not to you, with over 4k posts about it. Just because you're so "superior" that this won't be an issue to you, doesn't mean it won't be an issue to the other 2.99 million people who play this game.

Your words hurt my internet feelings.
Funny how people always attack the ones with a different opinion.

The point is you know about it, you like killing pigs, kill all the animals in your world. Then go generate the next one and kill them again and again and again. Before you know it, they will have caught up with the programming and fixed it. 3 months is not long to wait for something you find sooooo important.
Actually we might need to, so we can get their attention
That's just a good way to get them to ignore you. If you do nothing but repeat the same thing, over and over and over and over, they'll eventually just stop caring about it and pass over those tweets because they've seen them a million times.
It will become white noise to them and will be tuned out.
